issue
A social issue is a problem that affects many people within a society. It is a group of common problems in present-day society and ones that many people strive to solve. It is often the consequence of factors extending beyond an individual's control. Social issues are the source of conflicting opinions on the grounds of what is perceived as morally correct or incorrect personal life or interpersonal social life decisions. Social issues are distinguished from economic issues; however, some issues (such as immigration) have both social and economic aspects. Some issues do not fall into either category, such as warfare.
There can be disagreements about what social issues are worth solving, or which should take precedence. Different individuals and different societies have different perceptions. In Rights of Man and Common Sense, Thomas Paine addresses the individual's duty to "allow the same rights to others as we allow ourselves." The failure to do so causes the creation of a social issue.
There are a variety of methods people use to combat social issues. Some people vote for leaders in a democracy to advance their ideals. Outside the political process, people donate or share their time, money, energy, or other resources. This often takes the form of volunteering. Nonprofit organizationss are often formed for the sole purpose of solving a social issue. Community organizing involves gathering people together for a common purpose.
A distinct but related meaning of the term "social issue" (used particularly in the United States) refers to topics of national political interest, over which the public is deeply divided and which are the subject of intense partisan advocacy, debate, and voting. In this case "social issue" does not necessarily refer to an ill to be solved, but rather a topic to be discussed.

100 rds of 9mm or a pair of AR mags I'd trade for
So, after much searching I found a nice Kahr CW45 (cheap!) at a pawn shop, and bought myself a Christmas present.
It came with only one mag, which I understand is how that model ships, and so I bought 3 factory mags from Cabela's.
I've had about 150 rounds through it since Christmas, and...
Built my first AR15 recently, and I believe I'm having a headspace issue. Every few rounds (sometimes 2-3, sometimes 10+) my bcg doesn't fully seat in the barrel and I get a misfire or have to use the forward assist to get the bcg in firing position. I've tried the local gun shop (who torqued my...
I just was the first to view this YouTube video and I felt I should share it. Thank you to Dick Hughes for posting the video.
It's a good insight into what these people have in store.
I especially like how the "evidence-based strategies" bobblehead AKA Sen. Elizabeth Steiner Hayward of Beaverton...
I thought this was interesting regarding what Russian Cosmonauts used to carry into space. :)

hello I'm new to the forums,
I recently started reloading and in an effort to save cash I tried that old NRA brass cleaning solution that includes submerging your cases in vinegar. After submerging the brass in the vinegar solution I immediately tumbled 1/3 of the cases in corn cob media. I...
So I was out shooting my kahr cm9 with trijicon night sights and the front sight ended up popping off and unfortunately I was not able to find it, when I was at home trying to remove the screw so I couldn't replace the sight I noticed there appears to be red threadlock on the screw, how can I...
So I just went up and checked out my new silencer at the FFL and when we went to put the QD muzzle brake on we noticed it was really loose and sloppy on the threads. It did tighten up nice on the shoulder and was perfectly concentric with the bore. I gave it 30ft-lbs and we fired 10-15 rounds to...
I recently bought a used Mini 14, and while slightly used I was mostly quite pleased with the condition.
The barrel has been cut and a flash hider pinned and welded, and the other night while inspecting it, I noticed that the alignment of the site, and thus the hider were not at 12 o'clock, but...
So I recently bought a used lnl ap press from a member on here, and when I started loading 223 a few months back and have had this problem intermittently. If I use any sort of stick powder the powder measure seems to jam and it destroys the mouth of the case. Some throws go effortlessly other...
At the range with my TC Compass 22-250 sighting in my new scope and had a reoccurring issue with point of impact. Four different brands of ammo, warm barrel, same results. First shot would be high and left, next would be closer and the third or fourth shot would be about where it should have...
I have the Uberti Navy conversion model, and I didn't do enough research before I put the first rounds through it. As is not uncommon, the recoil drove the arbor into the barrel mount hole hard enough to deform the hole, and now I have a wobbly barrel.
Can anyone recommend a gunsmith for this...
Hey y'all,
So I've got the afforementioned rifle, and the right side forearm end screw was missing when I bought it. Ordered a replacement, went to install today, and it seems the piece between the barrel and the magazine tube which it threads into is both bent and stripped.
I don't know what...
Hey guys, having an issue with a new AR-15 I just put together and wanted to run it by the community.
Mods - feel free to move this to the reloading sub if you think that's a better place for it.
