4-year-old dies after finding gun from dad, a state trooper
I post these news links only to remind everyone not to be complacent. Evaluate your own circumstances and make well thought out decisions for your own home.
So I picked up this old RCBS 5-10 scale. I had to really spend some time cleaning it up but it was worth it. I like the dial feature for setting the "tenths" of the old 5-10 scales. I disassembled and cleaned the pivot crystals with alcohol prep pads. I think I have this old scale working pretty...
75 yr old "Old Shiff" of North Woodstock,N.H. about 1938. If you liked Roosevelt/The New Deal he wouldn't sell you a gun. Had a Roosevelt dime nailed to the floor inside the door and it was a good idea to stomp on it when you entered. When he wasn't selling or not selling guns he sent political...
Just hearing about this, I don't know all the details, don't want to assume accidental discharge or anything. It was posted on Facebook but then people started posting personal info and it got deleted.

Sad. I'm not one to preach or lecture at a time like this...
Hey all. Unfamiliar with 1911’s and I’m not sure if I need to replace this barrel. Came off a 1943 colt 1911a1. To me it looks as if the barrel is shot out but I’m not familar enough with them. It also has a Springfield marking on the frame that I’ve never seen before. Also think I need a new...
So I'm getting around to restoring some of the WWII rifles I acquired in the last few years and wanted to find someone that could check them out in terms of safety for use. Anyone around the Seattle area that you guys can recommend?

Black powder Ruger Old Army cap & ball pistol. Needs a good scrubbing and is missing the nipples.

So I've discovered an old box in the garage that had a box of 9mm ammo. 30 rds of WWB FMJ and 20 of Speer GD it looks like. I remember this box and it's over 12 years old. It's always been in a box and in dry environments. Doesn't look like any rusting. Is this still good to use?
Not really. But I find it so funny that some people think only "true gun enthusiasts" MUST like 1903's or M1's or muzzle loaders or flint locks. Like it's a "cool kid" club and any Glock or AR owner need not apply.
I happen to like ALL guns, except Hi-Points and Kel-Tecs. That's pretty much...
I'm always amazed at the amount of woodcraft/campcraft contained in old scouting manuals. I've been considering forcing myself to brush up on some of these skills (knot tying, for example). If anyone's interested there is a treasure trove of information contained here...
