legal
Law is a system of rules created and enforced through social or governmental institutions to regulate behavior, with its precise definition a matter of longstanding debate. It has been variously described as a science and the art of justice. State-enforced laws can be made by a group legislature or by a single legislator, resulting in statutes; by the executive through decrees and regulations; or established by judges through precedent, usually in common law jurisdictions. Private individuals may create legally binding contracts, including arbitration agreements that adopt alternative ways of resolving disputes to standard court litigation. The creation of laws themselves may be influenced by a constitution, written or tacit, and the rights encoded therein. The law shapes politics, economics, history and society in various ways and serves as a mediator of relations between people.
Legal systems vary between countries, with their differences analysed in comparative law. In civil law jurisdictions, a legislature or other central body codifies and consolidates the law. In common law systems, judges make binding case law through precedent, although on occasion this may be overturned by a higher court or the legislature. Historically, religious law influenced secular matters, and is still used in some religious communities. Sharia law based on Islamic principles is used as the primary legal system in several countries, including Iran and Saudi Arabia.Law's scope can be divided into two domains. Public law concerns government and society, including constitutional law, administrative law, and criminal law. Private law deals with legal disputes between individuals and/or organisations in areas such as contracts, property, torts/delicts and commercial law. This distinction is stronger in civil law countries, particularly those with a separate system of administrative courts; by contrast, the public-private law divide is less pronounced in common law jurisdictions.Law provides a source of scholarly inquiry into legal history, philosophy, economic analysis and sociology. Law also raises important and complex issues concerning equality, fairness, and justice.
I figured this was the best place to put this. So I'm currently buying an Intratec Tec-9. I wanted to know if there would be anything to stop it and its 32 round magazine from being shipped to an FFL in WA state. Any help would be great, thanks.
I'm hosting two speakers for a legal seminar on lethal force next month. In a nutshell, it's a presentation on what you need to know both before and after a lethal force encounter. Whether you're a martial artist, a concealed carrier, or a law enforcement officer, this training can help you...
Ive got a 1911 that I want to give my son when he turns 18. I know its legal to do that in Washington but I'm wondering if its possible now that the goofy BGC law is in effect. To be legal we'd have to do it through a FFL Dealer on a 4473. Since federal requirements are that he be 21 is it even...
I've read/heard that anything over 200sf needs a permit. What about having 2 or 3 non-connected structures, each 200sf? Also, regardless of the number of buildings, it seems a lot of states ban living off the grid period.
Starting to think Alaska is the last place you can really do this. Only...

Hi guys,
I own a Ka-Bar TDI with a 2 5/16" blade and I'm wondering if it's legal to carry in Portland. I was hoping to use an NSR horizontal belt sheath with it. Is this legal to carry?
I tried the search engine but it wasn't working very well.
Thanks, Tom

A quick question if a explosion three houses away vibrates my house which with stood the 138mph Columbus day storm without damage and a couple of 5.6 earthquakes should I figure that it wasn't a legal firework thingy?
LOL
This is actually a shank that was machined into a pyramid shape, like the original WWI trench knife. It has no edges and basically a pointy titanium stick.
So I am guessing it is not considered a dagger or dirk but is it legal to carry in WA? I could find nothing in the RCW not even under...

A thought which comes out of the Firearms Academy of Seattle - Marty Hayes tree of training
is that if you ever have to use a FA, you are better served if you have a paper trail of training, and re-training.
Legal requirements, Proficiency with the weapon used, and

Check out California gun laws, if you want to call them that. They are slowly eliminating guns that people can purchase and you have to have a background check when you buy one bullet...or more.
Where's the NRA when you need them??
Legal gun free zones being inside schools, inside the 21 and over part of a bar, metal health buildings and government buildings (here in WA).
Can you pull the Mag and put that in your pocket before you lock the gun in your car?
Would that be considered a weapon?
I only ask because it makes...
Hey everybody.
I'm new to Oregon and was wondering if you could help out with a question.
I'm picking up a new handgun from a license FFL dealer within Portland city limits. I do not have access to a vehicle and will be walking or taking public transportation back to my place.
The firearm...
