wood
Wood is a porous and fibrous structural tissue found in the stems and roots of trees, and other woody plants.
It has been used for thousands of years for both fuel and as a construction material. It is an organic material, a natural composite of cellulose fibers (which are strong in tension) embedded in a matrix of lignin which resists compression. Wood is sometimes defined as only the secondary xylem in the stems of trees, or it is defined more broadly to include the same type of tissue elsewhere such as in the roots of trees or shrubs. In a living tree it performs a support function, enabling woody plants to grow large or to stand up by themselves. It also conveys water and nutrients between the leaves, other growing tissues, and the roots. Wood may also refer to other plant materials with comparable properties, and to material engineered from wood, or wood chips or fiber.
The Earth contains about 434 billion cubic meters of growing stock forest, 47% of which is commercial. As an abundant, carbon-neutral renewable resource, woody materials have been of intense interest as a source of renewable energy. In 1991, approximately 3.5 cubic kilometers of wood were harvested. Dominant uses were for furniture and building construction.
Pretty much in perfect condition. This is a Ruger brand stock with the Ruger logo on the butt pad. These are hard to find unless you buy the Target model as a complete rifle. Would trade for Magpul X-22 Hunter in olive, fde, or gray. $140

Over the last 40+ years of strictly wood heat, my assemblage of various axes & mauls has come to annoy me more than give enjoyment thru seasonal use.
I've got a couple of long-favored 'normal' splitting mauls. One is a classic Collins pattern, rather shorter nose/fatter body, while the other...
I need a cheap Remington 870 buttstock for a project. It can be dinged and dented, full length, youth length, just not cracked. At the price point I'm looking for a cheap beech express stock is probably the answer, but hey, if you have a cheap walnut stock, that will work too.
I know I can find...

I just picked up a new M1A standard with a beautiful wood stock for $1200 out the door. It looks like they are selling more plastic stock models so they are able to buy some very nice walnut stocks. I do have a M1A Super Match with a McMillan glass stock in Marine Corps camo. However the...
So this is going to be a little difficult to accurately describe, and it's going to lead to some answers that might not make sense through no fault of the poster :(
I cleaned (not stripped) my 1903 stock some time ago, and started to top it up with linseed oil, this has been going fine, with...
So i just recently purchased a 1939 8mm Turkish Mauser that i intend to shoot until i run out of ammo. HOWEVER! Upon inspecting the rifle closer i found a small crack in the wood midway down the side of the rifle. Having never in my life done any sort of wood repair (Much less that on wooden...
Bought my wife a 28" barrel 870 20ga, she liked how the 28" barrel felt, but would like to pair it with a youth stock.
