In writing and typography, a ligature occurs where two or more graphemes or letters are joined to form a single glyph. Examples are the characters æ and œ used in English and French, in which the letters 'a' and 'e' are joined for the first ligature and the letters 'o' and 'e' are joined for the second ligature. For stylistic and legibility reasons, 'f' and 'i' are often merged to create 'fi' (where the tittle on the 'i' merges with the hood of the 'f'); the same is true of 's' and 't' to create 'st'. The common ampersand (&) developed from a ligature in which the handwritten Latin letters 'e' and 't' (spelling et, Latin for 'and') were combined.
Well, I've been planning on setting up an 01FFL side business for some time now. This month, I've started to get the ducks in the row for just that. I've got the paperwork, essentially, completed and ready to be sent off the first week of next month.
I started this thread for two reasons...
Any of you procured a FFL within the last year or so...? If you have, is a person required to have a "store front" in the state of Oregon. I found a thread from 2012 and it seemed like they were cracking down on issuing FFLs to individuals that want to work from their home.
Thanks.
Hildebrand, a private home-based FFL, has been around for quite some time and I've seen a couple positive reviews of the FFL. I purchased an Aero M4E1 receiver set from E-Arms, and noticed that Hildebrand was already on file with E-Arms, providing a strong sense of reassurance.
USPS attempted...
I searched the forum and came up empty handed, so pardon me if this is somehow commonly available knowledge.
I have a potential buyer for a handgun I'm selling, but as they live quite a bit of a drive away from me, I'd like to mitigate both the gas expense of them driving to me, and the...
Hello all,
I'm a New FFL here in Oregon with a question for other FFL holders. The "Register of Transfer of Used Firearms" form from OSP and subsequent ORS166.427 is something I'm a little unclear on.
The law seems clear enough in the whole "buying, or accepting in trade", but I just want to...
Hi all I hope your Christmas was well, a friend wants to sell his handgun and wants to know the best place near Portland for a inexpensive transfer ? Thanks in advance
Did some searching and not having a lot of luck finding a place to do private ffl transfer in Eugene Springfield area. Gun pro wants 40 which is a little more than I was expecting.
Crap, my FFL, US GUNS LLC went out of business. I need a new FFL to receive. Problem is I'm usually getting up to 5 at a time and it gets very expensive for them to write down serial #'s. US GUNS was $10 for the phone call and $20 for up to 5 serial numbers. Everyone else seems to be $10, +$25...
Question: If I want to sell a gun online, are there any FFL's in Vancouver who will ship a firearm (handgun or rifle) and what do you charge and what is expected of seller, like Contact info, Shipping address, FFL info, charges for multiple weapons?
Thanks!
As a Washington resident, I went to an oregon FLL today to perform a trade of firearms with an Oregon resident. I was looking to trade a handgun for a rifle. Much to our surprise, the FFL said it couldn't be done with both of us and the firearms there at the Oregon FFL. Was told the Oregon...
So have a few handguns I want to list on GunBroker most are C&R but it is annoying that UPS requires next day (which is just insane rates) for non-FFL (have C&R but of course that doesn't matter on the left coast now).. Does anyone know of a dealer in Washington near Vancouver that will do the...
