In writing and typography, a ligature occurs where two or more graphemes or letters are joined to form a single glyph. Examples are the characters æ and œ used in English and French, in which the letters 'a' and 'e' are joined for the first ligature and the letters 'o' and 'e' are joined for the second ligature. For stylistic and legibility reasons, 'f' and 'i' are often merged to create 'fi' (where the tittle on the 'i' merges with the hood of the 'f'); the same is true of 's' and 't' to create 'st'. The common ampersand (&) developed from a ligature in which the handwritten Latin letters 'e' and 't' (spelling et, Latin for 'and') were combined.
Hi guys. I need some insight. I am a new gunsmith and have applied for my FFL in deschutes county Oregon. I'm trying to get the proper zoning permit to work out of my garage. The county is telling me $1300. Does this sound right or am I doing something wrong? Am I asking about the wrong thing...

I have a question on an FFL transfer from Washington to Oregon. I wanted to purchase a AR-15 lower from a guy in Washington, I live in Oregon. I told him I have an FFL person in Eugene and he could package this up and send it, non-common carrier, to my FFL.
He said his FFL person said that I...
So I am toying with the idea of getting an FFL. I own a brick and mortar business location already which has a small machine shop as part of its operation. In the little Idaho town I am in (about 4000 people) there is one other FFL that has a actual store (a hardware store that really has...
Good evening!
After I negotiate where on the site to get setup as a Supporting Vendor I have some great items to post for those of you looking for deals and some hard to find items at reasonable prices. Also I only charge for the first three items transferred to me, after that you just pay the...
So, my wife's grandfather would like to gift us his hunting rifle. It is, from what I heard, a 1960s-vintage Winchester 70 in .300 Winchester Magnum. Grandpa, however, is a resident of Wisconsin, not Oregon. My wife's father and mother, both Oregon residents, will be traveling to Wisconsin...
I recently relocated to Central Oregon, and I have yet to find "my ffl". Does anyone know a good ffl around here that does transfers for a decent price? I want to buy a gun from online and need to have one shipped here. Any input, positive or negative, would be appreciated. I did a search...
I got a couple handguns from Shot Show and am looking for a FFL transfer dealer on the Eastside or Seattle that doesn't cost an arm or a leg. Many of the entries in this link are outdated.
Much thanks,
After 8 years we have closed out our FFL and ATF was here for a final insection with taking all my 4473 and bound book. Won't miss all the paperwork and reporting of revenue to the state every quarter. My wife says it is going to save us a lot of money due to the me not making purchases. Meet a...
So, for many years I had a C&R license and collected a small number of items over that time. When it came up for renewal a few years back, I opted to not renew said because:
My interests had shifted to other items.
The milsurp market had, more or less, dried up. At least compared to...
For a variety of reasons, which I will outline below, I am seriously considering obtaining a dealer license (01) and, once approved, applying for SOT Class 3 (Dealer in Firearms) license. I'm not 100% on the idea as of yet, but I've made some progress on the research. I thought I'd start a...
I'm looking for a few FFL's to answer a question or two pertaining to how a PGO is recorded in their bound books.
The 4473 is rather clear and easy to fill out.
Question 18 -> Other
Question 29 -> Pistol grip firearm
But how do you record the firearm when it comes in, and when you transfer it...
Looks like I may need an FFL for a private sale in N or NE Portland. I don't know any FFL's out that way, or what any may charge.
Can anyone give a recommendation in those areas, or relatively close to them? It would be most appreciated if you're recommending someone you've actually used and...
I purchased a shotgun from an FFL in Florida via Gunbroker.com.
I completed the transfer to me with an Oregon FFL.
The gun is an inoperative POS and needs to be returned.
Question, under SB-941 do I have to do a FFL to FFL transfer or can I send it directly back to him?
I have seen so many different things I'm not sure what to think.
Can I go to a gun shop and purchase a handgun from a private party legally if I am under 19 years old in Oregon.
