tac,
If you weren't so far away I'd help you "Taste test"....I love Mincemeat Pie.
As far as serious prepping goes....1,000 rnds + for each caliber, gas for the generator, freezer full of meat, pantry full of non perishables and if it comes down to a "Bug Out", the boat is across the street with full tanks.;)

The above kind of fits right in with prepping! I remember my mom preparing and canning mince meat, from venison. It must have lasted pretty well, because she only did it every couple of years! I hated it when I was a kid, fond of it these days, though!

Exactly, I just have to make the best of this Socialist CRAP for my years here. On the bright side we found 5 possible houses on the local lake to buy. I am taking the approach it will be a "white collar" gulag. Bless my brother in W. WA. We went out the day before Thanksgiving to Bass Pro and he bought another safe just for me. It will live in his garage and he is mailing me the keys. So a few freedom tools an Kali banned mags will live there. Once I get a place down here I will bring more down.

Brutus Out

More prepping to prep; Met with the builder and walked the property. Reviewed and revised house plans prior to submitting to architect and engineer. Lots of concrete! Security doors and limited accessible windows. House placement with visibility in mind. Contacted excavator for advice and quote in the next week or two. Okayed the builder to get the permitting ball rolling. Discussed generator backup and possibility of wind generator (hilltop).
Won't go much further than that until my current place sells. Hoping to start moving dirt and pounding nails by July.

Have also been working on plans for a go-anywhere vehicle once the new house and shop are done. Think Unimog. Hopefully that project can begin in early '18.

Nice!

Dunno about a 'Mog. Seen a bunch & yeah they are pretty awesome. I'm sure you've thought on it a bunch though. MY go anywhere vehicle would be more along the lines of a nice older, but new (pre-sulfur) diesel pickup with a pop-up type camper with pass thru on it. Like a flat bed XP, or FWC (the flatbed FWC is pretty outstanding).

Maybe I shouldn't have said go anywhere. How about go lots of places. I'm fixated on a 4x4 medium sized, cab over, short wheelbase, flatbed with a diesel -- not a dually. Might even base it on an NPR. It's still a ways off. Lots could change.

Received my two Chinese utility "tactical" waist packs today!

These guys are to go with some MidwayUSA 4 magazine pouches I bought a while back. I've done better ones for us and the kids. But, I'll get these packed with less expensive knives, rudimentary first aid kits, flashlights, fire starting, compass, etc. to equip my troops! IMG_0553.JPG

The waist packs were through Amazon, $7.98 ea free shipping! :D

Did a Winco shop & picked up some bagged tea to put up.

Red Rose 100 ct, ~$3, Winco brand 100 ct, ~$2.

Bought a bunch on the Winco brand.

Not big hot tea drinkers, but we do enjoy iced made from the Red Rose. The Winco branded is a blend of Orange Pekoe & Pekoe cut Black Tea similar to Red Rose. Pretty decent value, and a nice backup for coffee as well.

We might buy some pressed tea blocks, as they store extremely well and supposedly get better with age.

Ordered a Tyvek hoodie coverall suit and gloves, booties and a "bionic" face shield. The idea is to use that in combo with duct tape and a P95 filter in case there is some reason to protect myself from fallout or biohazard, etc., where I may need to decon.

Not optimal, but better than nothing.

Handy to have for a bunch of things. Volcanic ash comes to mind, and doing odd jobs you wouldn't normally find yourself doing.

Started working some "gigs" dealing black jack for company parties. Should net me between $400-$500 for December. Will use the $$$ for supplies.

Bought a Mora knife, 4 Life Straws, 100 rounds of 22lr, and a laser for a new xds
