I worked UAL ramp service in Seattle 1961-2001 so I may have unloaded/loaded your dad's flights.
My Dad hired in with UAL in 1941 in Cheyenne Wyo as a mechanics helper. He got his A&E and then transfered to Seattle and worked at Boeing Field where UAL was before they moved to SeaTac Airport in 1951. In 1955 he went from Lead mechanic to FE. DC6/7's, then among the first crew on the 720 in 1960. He took his last 2 years in Cleveland as a 737 Capt. Damn I miss him but thank him everyday for being a good dad.
Hey Brutus57 My dad also traded his A&P and retired sitting in the left seat of a 737 for the real UAL in 1980.
Then he knew my dad. My dad retired in 1980 as well. Started in 1946 with United as a flight line mechanic after having been a FE on B-29s.
Something came up. Can't make it today.
