The points of the compass are an evenly spaced set of horizontal directions (or azimuths) used in navigation and geography. A compass rose is primarily composed of four cardinal directions—north, east, south, and west—each separated by 90 degrees, and secondarily divided by four ordinal (intercardinal) directions—northeast, southeast, southwest, and northwest—each located halfway between two cardinal directions. Some disciplines such as meteorology and navigation further divide the compass with additional azimuths. Within European tradition, a fully defined compass has 32 'points' (and any finer subdivisions are described in fractions of points).Compass points are valuable in that they allow a user to refer to a specific azimuth in a colloquial fashion, without having to compute or remember degrees.
I've been working on the next version of Northwest Firearms for well over a year now, a huge update including a completely re-written front-end and redevelopment of many popular features (classifieds being the big one, finally!). I'm happy to report that we're very close to the update here...
We've had a number of requests to accept Bitcoin (and other altcoins) over the years. This past month we've received several, all citing the anti-gun nature of most payment processors (such as PayPal and Stripe, both of which we rely on), and the possibility of them cancelling our accounts at...
I have recently purchased three boxes of ammo at BiMart. I didn't need the ammo, but I thought while I was there, I should get it and pass it on to members (At cost) of NWFA that really need it. Then I said to myself, "What the heck, I'll pass the money on to the help support the board!"...
Geography aside, howdy ya'll! Got myself retired a couple of years ago. Started in Colorado, back in the cowboys and Indians days, then New Mexico, "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." And now retired in Tennessee. Just beautiful. About an hour away from Nashville so the...
Maybe the majority of people in Washington are all on WaGuns. It seems like almost everyone that I see post lives in Oregon, specifically the Portland, Beaverton, and Hillsboro areas. If I see a Washington profile, 10 dollars says that you live in Vancouver.
It sounds like I'm whining over...
I bought this muzzleloader a few years ago and it was a nice upgrade from my old one. The fiber optics and striker fire style firing pin are great. I have a lot of accessories that go with this thing. Lots of caps, bullets, cleaning tools, breeches, nipples, spare sights, etc... some items...
Well I've been on the board for a few years. Bought and sold, posted my opinions. And today, I just realized I never did a formal introduction email...... Here goes.
Moved to this area in 1993 in my final 2 tours in the navy (Navcomtelsta Puget Sound 93-97 and 97-2001 USS Carl Vinson) retired in...
Anyone know if they are still open and making shot?

For better or worse, Northwest Firearms has been my life's work. Watching this grow from a spur of the moment idea to a thriving...
Looking for a guide with access to hunting land for the September Canada goose hunting season in the Northwest section of Oregon. For a 1-2 day hunt on the weekend of 9/11 or 9/18. This would be for two first-time goose hunters. Willing to pay above standard rates. Please PM me, thanks!
It appears that CenturyLink is blocking emails from the northwestfirearms.com domain, causing issues for members using @centurylink.com and @q.com email addresses.
I'll try to simplify what's happening. Our site sends emails for a variety of reasons, replies to watched threads, new...
I headed over to H Mart to pick up some groceries when I decided to park in front of NW Armory to see if they had any ammo. There was one guy standing out front waiting for them to open and I thought, "No big deal." I walked over to H Mart, got my groceries, and by the time I got back the line...
Hey Folks,
I fell down a YouTube rabbit hole on the history of camouflage and it got me thinking: what would ya'll choose for a camo in the PNW?
I've provided a few options but if you have a left field suggestion let's hear it.
This can be for anything from bugging out to hunting.
What...
I just received a text from my FFL. It was nothing but a picture of the gun in question: A S&W Model 22-4 with the color case-hardened frame. No notification that it had shipped, no tracking info, no communication whatsoever - it just shows up. Really glad to have it and to put this all behind...
I won a S&W Model 22-4 in an auction on gunauction.com on Sunday March 22nd. I immediately e-mailed shipping instructions and a copy of the receiving dealer's license. I sent a USPS money order and a hard copy of the FFL by express mail. According to USPS tracking it was delivered on Wednesday...
Are we allowing sellers out of the pnw?
We have an east coast seller here trying to sell items.
Kinda thought this was for local to the nw folks? Did this change?
Admin?
I want to preface this with a simple statement: If you want to Support Northwest Firearms, please try to support our Supporting Vendors before shopping elsewhere. Sales are the main reason they advertise with us, and without their financial support this site literally wouldn't be here.
With the...
