Overall very good to excellent condition.
Heavy octagonal barrel. Adjustable rear sight. Metal and wood in great shape with a few light handling marks. Set trigger works properly.
I used Triple 7 for loading and Ballistol for cleaning. Also always used a bore guide when seating the ball to...
Selling my Thompson center Hawken rifle which is in very good condition. Including the range rod, powder measure, capper, and ball puller I have for it. No FFL required given that it’s a muzzle loader.
Hello all, just today I bought my first BP rifle at the ARPC gun show, a beautiful looking Thompson Center Hawken in .54 caliber. I’ve been watching channels like capandball as well as hickock45 and I always see them using a separate ramrod from the one included with the rifle. I was wondering...

.54 Caliber, left-handed. Ramrod is intact with no cracks.

Up for sale is a 70's era (1970's) Thompson Center Hawken Rifle. I honestly don't know much about it. Stock and fittings are Thompson Center. Brand of the barrel is unknown as there are no distinguishing marks except for a circle on the underside and a "G" stamped near the muzzle. The barrel has...

Recieved this rifle from a relative, and I have no use for it, so rather sell it to someone that appreciates muzzleloaders. Looks to be in decent condition to the untrained eye.

My first career job was in Jackson Hole, WY. Man, twist my arm off and beat me! While living there some 37 years ago, got interested in black powder guns because my friends who were part of the Mountain Man club told me it'd be a blast. So, hang on to your...
For sale is a .50 caliber Hawken rifle. There's nothing wrong with this one other than the brass is tarnished. As you can see from the photos, it has an interesting star brass boss inlaid into the stock, which I found interesting. Never seen that on any other firearm. Other than that I find it...
This rifle is beautiful aside from the rather obvious bit; the lockplate and hammer are covered in surface rust. Another project gun that I simply don't have time for. But other than that, it's almost flawless. Most of the bluing is in place, the stock is very pretty, nice brasswork, etc.
$150...
I have one .50 caliber Hawken for sale with a rather unique flintlock mechanism (at least to me, I'm by far used to the caplock, I've never held a flint hawken in person before). It has some surface rust that needs attending near the touch hole but other than that appears to be in great shape...
Okay, I've been trying to find an answer to this question, and I seem to have a hard time finding a consistent answer. So, I'll reach out to some of you fine NWFA folks that have experience in these things to see if I can get properly educated on this.
So my question is this - is it safe to...
