Back in the day the radio antenna off a car was used with block of wood, spring, nail to make a zip gun, .22 lr caliber. It might be primary reason the auto makers went away from hollow radio antennas, as the antenna from the 1950's was perfect for .22 lr barrel.

Word was that they were about as likely to blow up in your hand as they were to fire. And they were about as accurate as a SPLC study.
