If I could get a .40SW upper and BCG, that would be my answer, but I haven't found a one.
I did get an AR-9 20 inch upper, and 80% AR-9 (Glock) lower.

For 3-Gun
G-26 with 33 round mag (use my carry to shoot the course)
AR-9 with Glock magwell
Moss 930 JM Pro (somehow alter it to shoot the nine)

Make my gear all in one caliber:rolleyes:
Unless I find an AR-45ACP upper...

I've never actually had an .40 I could fire accurately enough; my problem, not the round; still, I don't care for it;

Finally started loading 10mm for bowling pin; certainly more effective, and my same S&W 610 revolver is quite happy with either. And I had to get an auto 10mm just to see, and frankly don't care for it's accuracy either. There's a pattern here entirely of my own I'm sure;

My best accuracy is a 1911, and that 45 acp round can be had in nearly any type of firearm ever made the last 100+ years. I like it a lot.

9mm works well for me, especially with the newer ammo designs. I suppose in a pinch it would do.

However, the non specific directly of "which is MY choice" I prefer 41 mag. The 10 while certainly ample and far easier to find, simply is a pretender to what I prefer. Not making claims, just stating personal preference. And the marvelous 44 special is as versatile as 22LR, if not more so in the terms I envision part of the 'only one caliber' challenge.
And yes, one has to be capable of reloading, as one has to in uncertain times.

Nah.
45 ain't so good for 4 legged targets.
10mm is better suited for 4 legged stuff.

:)

What's wrong with the good old .44 mag for hunting ? It was my first choice, out of a Super Blackhawk Hunter.
I kinda miss it. But don't pistol hunt anymore.

not to start any argument here, the way I read the ballistic charts a heavy charge is required to approach middling 41 mag numbers. And I'm no uulating about anything mystical about 41 mag, just the numbers.

I suppose if Uncle Ted likes 10 I should too.

Yep, that would get the job done.
Not a doubt.

After further review, mebbe the 44 Mag would be the best runner-up.
It's a bear-stopper, has the utility of 44 Special and outclasses 41 mag.

I had good reasons to leave it out. .357 magnum is a rimmed cartridge, it's not reliable in semi-autos. This is a semi-auto only poll.
I thought the OP asked about semi auto calibers?

Reading is fundamental. :confused:
Yep, he should have put that in the title, but you are correct.
Having said that. I'll go back to 10mm as my runner-up to 9mm.
And no, that wasn't in the poll but that's the way we do things.

:)
