The shooter used a .45-caliber Glock handgun. The gun was purchased legally, but had an extended magazine on it.

Unless I am looking at old info, bar carry is legal with a permit in California. Of course good luck getting "May issue" permit in any county of Southern California.

Man, country concert, country bar, multiple churches.

Its about time for country folk to wake up and realize we are a target now. That shotgun in the closet at home doesn't keep you safe.

We All need a pistol on us 24/7! No matter the laws! A loaded gun concealed in CA is only a misdemeanor.
I think there's a saying for such common sense... something along the lines of

"Better to be judged by twelve then carried by six"

The media has to get in their jabs somehow. "High powered assault rifle" doesn't work with a .45 ACP pistol, so they gotta latch on to something to demonize it.

Yup. First story I saw that named the gun said "Glock 21 .45, a gun designed for a 10 rd magazine
but the shooter had an extended magazine". The 21 was designed for a 13 round mag.

I cannot believe this shooting happened.. Only AR-15s can get angry enough to murder so many people.. A 13rd capacity pistol is incapable of murdering this many people. And, this was in California a place with so many "sensible" gun laws.. Not even Europe has so many "sensible" laws as People's Republic of Commiefornia. Therefore, this all must be just FAKE NEWS.

In CA they sell with a 10 round mag.

And I'm sure the fake news thinks anything over 10 is a "high capacity" magazine. Dummies.

So if 26 rounds is high capacity then what is this? akmag100gun.jpg
Aside from an unreliable aftermarket mag that is.

"In April this year, deputies were called to the home he shared with his mother after neighbors heard loud crashes coming from inside. He was acting 'irrationally' and was 'irate' so police called in their mental health specialist but they cleared him, deciding against having him committed. Neighbors told DailyMail.com on Thursday that his mother Colleen was 'terrified' he was going to harm himself or others."

Bottom line is, there was an individual with apparently severe mental issues that was left with access to a firearm.

Yup, they cleared that little creep in Florida too. No, not the David Hogg little creep, the shooter creep that got visited and cleared then ignored by FBI that had better things to do.

My wife insists on watching NBC Nightly News, arrrrg. Lester Jolt just spent an hour on the shooting... All leading up to a five minute banner that broadcast how we've had "307 mass shootings in 2018".

It's super frustrating that these type of events occur in heavily gun restricted areas of the country but the discussion never seems to focus on the fact the gun control isn't working. This event will give Gov elect and his posse lots of ammo to quadruple down on gun control. Be ready CA residents it's coming. Learn how to load from the muzzle because that's what you may be left with.

convenient timing

Im so sick of this s**t. So damn sick. Why dont these people just off them damn selves instead of taking other innocent people with them.....
As many of you know, I had relatives in Vegas at the concert. Luckly mine survived. Last night, my coworkers relative didnt.....
If anyone from here is from North Plains or is familiar with the Meek family, please give them condolences......Thats all I have to say.....

Retired USMC, multiple run ins with the law. Last time he was tearing up his house in April. They did not have enough to hold him for a psych eval. .45 extended mag. Used smoke to conceal his movements. Office ran in and was hit right away. Seems gunman took his own life. CHP was next on sceen pulled hit officer out. When they re entered gun man was dead.
Here in lies the problem. Was he always this way? At one point he was a United States Marine!

When do we call this a mental health issue and support our veterans and get them and others the help they need instead of always blaming the gun?o_O

BLAMING THE GUN IS CHEAPER

News reported extended mag, but does not say how many rounds it held. The Glock 21 standard non CA is 13 rds. You can buy an extended 25 rd one on line. Both of these mags have been outlawed in CA since 1999. The shooter was a little kid then. So, this shows that criminals and crazies will obtain banned firearms notwithstanding the fact that they are illegal. Bans only affect law abiding citizens. And CA's recent attempt to remove the grandfather clause and ban possession would have surely resulted in all the gang bangers and crazies racing to turn in their illegal mags.

You already know the felon is armed and dangerous! So is the drug user that wants to rob you, his dealer is armed and at home with a gun so the user will rip you off and not him.
Go figure.
