Problem with letting them vote is the state becomes run by illegals rather than citizens. Picking a state to live in should the gun laws pass you wouldn't want one run by illegals. It' not fair to have folks vote on the taxes you must pay that are not even legal to be in the country. Kali is a doomed state and not even an option.

How are they not paying taxes? Washington at least is a sales tax based state along with B&O and property taxes. Federal is different but illegals pay all of the same taxes that I do but they get no representation. If they buy something they pay sales tax. If they buy something or have services done they pay B&O. If they live somewhere someone is paying property taxes paid for with their money.

I can't tell you how many illegals I have known using fakes docs who get busted after a year or more of working and paying federal income tax , social security etc. When they get busted they move onto another job. What happens to that money they put into social security and the federal tax pot under someone elses name? It's the slush fund I tell you. No one is accountable for it.

Just one way illegals hurt the economy and pay no taxes is as sub contractors on government projects. By law there has to be diversity in bids on public projects so let's say a government building is being built. Contactor gets the bid to do all the sheet rock in the building. He hires illegals by contract and not wages. They are supposed to pay taxes out of their money but just move on and pay nothing. Now add that up for every building and house built by illegals under contract.

I worked a big mill project many years ago where the pipe fitters came down from Canada because they didn't have enough fitters here. Even under wages they set it up so they paid quarterly and left the country after working 3 months so they didn't pay taxes. Illegals ain' t just from the southern border.o_O

What are you seriously going to do? Tell them pry it from your dead fingers. Ya, sure. Bury them. Got a secure spot not in your back yard? Boating accident. Get real. I've got kids in free states that will be getting the inheritance early. They are getting them anyway, and I can always visit to go shooting.
Two choices for me, move or die defending my rights.

Germany and Russia went through this same scenario back in the 20s and 30's. They instituted gun control for years before they killed millions. What did they do. Can we learn from the past. What mistakes did they make that we can learn from.

"Those that do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it"
George Satayana

The mistake that both populations made is the same that we are making today -- not being involved and not taking the threat seriously and, when the threat was made real, the people roll over and submit. To me, the 2nd amendment is worth dieing to defend if need be. I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees.

I think we need to realize the threat of our families being slaughtered in the future is real regardless of what the government says at this point. With all the good intentions in the world the future will be governed by different people who have different ideas on what's best for everyone. Once the people are disarmed there is nothing to stop the stupidity of future officials from doing the unthinkable and forcing changes that may lead to millions being killed. Freedoms are lost in small increments that may seem logical at the time but in the end they will lead to disaster. Rome fell after a thousand years because they turned away from republican principles and drifted into the evils of democracy. When the many can decide the fate of the few we've lost individual freedom. Group rights are not individual rights. This country was based on individual rights. The founders hated the idea of a democracy and saw it as a path to disaster.

Here is a thought that came to me right before falling asleep last night; I haven't worked through it yet and putting it to the collective wisdom here.

Here is the question: If you have an AR lower receiver that is disassembled to some extent, or even completely stripped, would that be considered an "assault weapon" under the current proposed measure definition?

My initial idea is that this condition removes at least some of the stated features - bayonet stud, collapsing stock, etc.

What say you?

worst case scenario, you just have to make your AR's featureless. Some of the featureless options actually are pretty clever. I never want to have to use them and I am gonna fight tooth and nail against it. But it goes to show, no matter what the anti freedomers do, we will still be here. And more and more people are waking up everyday, thats why the push into liberal insanity has gone into hyperdrive. They know they are running out of time, and they need to take our human rights away before too many of us become wise to their plan.

The problem as I see it is the vast majority of the population will remain oblivious to the rapidly deteriorating situation until it is too late. There might be furious enchanges of outrage on various forums but most will placidly slide into socialistic servitude with a smile.

For change to happen people must stand up and say NO. A tipping point needs to occur where a line must be set that will not be crossed. People must DO something -- I am afraid that people are mostly apathetic, satisfied enough or not willing to risk to save what freedoms may be left to us.

Oregon finally Gts mentioned by large 2a channel I hope it helps get the word out on the insanity we are dealing with

I planned on selling my guns in four years when I turned 70. Its' too bad you guys won't get a chance to buy them as some are real treasures. :D Moving out of state is the only way to enjoy them and I will have fun.

I am only a few years away from retirement and planed to move for tax reasons anyway. WA will follow Oregon on this nonsense, so I am looking at Northern Nevada as a possibility. No state income tax. Oregon taxes pensions and 401k distributions @ 9.9%. However for the time I am here, I will register mine if the law passes. I am not willing to risk a felony charge. Nope, not worth it.

Suppose the registration is $250 per gun and $50 per magazine?? Yearly?? Suppose you somehow don't qualify to own a registered firearm?? Nope!! It is time to stand and fight.
Millions served in WWII, and thousands died, to keep this kind of tyranny from happening here. Even though many young persons seem to support this ban, they may have need of this Civil Right at some time in their future. It is up to us to protect that for them.

Run, like a dog, with its tail between it legs????? That is NOT what America is about!!!

A somewhat common view here is, If I can move then I will be able to escape what's coming...
What a short sighted view of things -- do you really think that anti gunners will be satisfied if there are states that foster gun rights? Or if thinking logically once the majority of states restrict the 2nd amendment that the anti gunners will bring even more pressure to bear on those states that are left...
Those that run are only making it easier for the remainders rights to be violated. Stand and fight now.

My hat is off to you that will resist and stand and fight should this law pass. A felony charge would get me fired from my job. My family depends on me for support. I am simply not willing to risk loosing my family's financial security over this. Not to mention being prohibited from owning any firearms to protect them with should the need arise. Like the old saying, don't roll the dice if you can't pay the price. The price in this game is too high for me to play.
