No comment. These people have no clue how to curb or stop the violence. Stripping freedoms of law abiding people is the only thing they know. I 594 should have never passed. NEVER.

Its been decades since I read the book, but in the story "Animal Farm" a horse is willingly lead into a trailer heading to the glue factory, while beliving he's heading to pasture for a peaceful retirement. There's a donkey trying to warn him to get out, break free but the warning goes onto deaf ears.

I moved here to be free not to bring the dirt of California socialism in on my shoes. I vote and I vote for our rights.

Unfortunately, WA and OR have been on a steady path to CA style retardation for decades now. Depending on when you moved here, the signs may or may not have been there.
But this brings up a good point, what do you look for when selecting a state to escape to? I can't see Idaho or Montana, or even Wyoming ever becoming liberal states with draconian laws. Trouble is, they are not good for much anything else. Jobs, climate, etc.

You guys forgot about the single biggest pro gun state in the union. TEXAS! If I was to move for "1" single reason of my 2nd amendment rights it would be Texas.

Texans just like to think they have good gun laws. They have goofy carry laws and restrictions in Texas and there is precious little if zero state land to shoot on. Lots of states have much better gun laws than Texas. Nevada, Montana Idaho and Arizona come to mind in the West. Even places like Tennessee have better gun laws than Texas.

They are not as restricted as you think. I am on Texasguntalk.com all the time and they have a pretty relaxed open carry in that state.

Most states have open and concealed carry laws that are better than TX. Remember for all their bluster about Texas being the best at everything they only started allowing concealed carry a few years ago and open carry recently. Businesses's can post a a sign preventing open or concealed carry in their place of business and if you do carry you are subject to arrest without being told to leave. Washington and Oregon have better concealed and open carry laws than Texas. If anything Washington's shall issue, no class concealed carry law is better than almost every other states laws on the matter except those that require no permit.

The shooting thing is more of an issue. If you like shooting at ranges you can generally find one. If you have a buddy with 40K acres you can shoot out on his ranch. If you just want to go driving out in the wilderness to go shooting good luck. Almost all land in the state is privately owned.

'They' do want to take your guns; Seattle Times editorial proves it

Today's editorial page in the Seattle Times effectively puts the lie to any claim from the gun prohibition lobby – for which an alarming number of newspaper editorial boards now serve as cheerleaders – that "nobody wants to take your guns" by demanding that the state ban "assault style weapons" and magazines that hold more than ten cartridges.

What?!?! Don't they know that out of 8,454 people killed with firearms only 285 are killed with rifles of any type. More people are killed with hands and fists (687) than rifles. Pistols (5,782) are the biggest danger but 99% of those are either gang related, armed robbery, and personal quarrels.

Gentlemen, I submit that I have read each of these comments and wish you to consider the other large and gun friendly state!

ALASKA, we have the option of carry any style without a permit necessary, and a permit available for those that want to have
a) the ability to travel into "Gun free " zones like schools that are federally exempt with a state permit, and
b) a paper trail for reciprocity with other states (38 count at present, according to this sitehttp://dps.alaska.gov/statewide/PermitsLicensing/reciprocity.aspx)

I thought it was pretty humorous that for many years, good old liberal Oregon had a better concealed carry law than Wyoming, probably the most conservative state in the Union. That only changed when Wyoming enacted "constitutional carry". Even with that, Oregonians can still legally CC in places where Wyomingites can't.

The good news in Wyoming is OC, no law at all about it, and no ability for municipalities to regulate it due to strong preemption.

My pet peeve is when people talk about guns and hunting in a negative manner when they don't know what a AK-47 is or a 7.62 is.
