I moved here to be free not to bring the dirt of California socialism in on my shoes. I vote and I vote for our rights.
What?!?! Don't they know that out of 8,454 people killed with firearms only 285 are killed with rifles of any type. More people are killed with hands and fists (687) than rifles. Pistols (5,782) are the biggest danger but 99% of those are either gang related, armed robbery, and personal quarrels.(link to the editorial in the first paragraph)
'They' do want to take your guns; Seattle Times editorial proves it
Today's editorial page in the Seattle Times effectively puts the lie to any claim from the gun prohibition lobby – for which an alarming number of newspaper editorial boards now serve as cheerleaders – that "nobody wants to take your guns" by demanding that the state ban "assault style weapons" and magazines that hold more than ten cartridges.

Most states have open and concealed carry laws that are better than TX. Remember for all their bluster about Texas being the best at everything they only started allowing concealed carry a few years ago and open carry recently. Businesses's can post a a sign preventing open or concealed carry in their place of business and if you do carry you are subject to arrest without being told to leave. Washington and Oregon have better concealed and open carry laws than Texas. If anything Washington's shall issue, no class concealed carry law is better than almost every other states laws on the matter except those that require no permit.
The shooting thing is more of an issue. If you like shooting at ranges you can generally find one. If you have a buddy with 40K acres you can shoot out on his ranch. If you just want to go driving out in the wilderness to go shooting good luck. Almost all land in the state is privately owned.
You guys forgot about the single biggest pro gun state in the union. TEXAS! If I was to move for "1" single reason of my 2nd amendment rights it would be Texas.
Texans just like to think they have good gun laws. They have goofy carry laws and restrictions in Texas and there is precious little if zero state land to shoot on. Lots of states have much better gun laws than Texas. Nevada, Montana Idaho and Arizona come to mind in the West. Even places like Tennessee have better gun laws than Texas.
They are not as restricted as you think. I am on Texasguntalk.com all the time and they have a pretty relaxed open carry in that state.
