As a kid in high school studying world history, WWII gave me pause along a lot of lines, and led to some interesting discussions with my grandfather, who had fought in Europe. I wondered how the hell a somewhat nobody could turn a country on its nose and deliver the Germany that brought on this world war. So with help from my grandfather, I researched old newspaper articles and read books to discover how Hitler made the changes in Germany. While I don't see exact similarities, I do see a lot of the same type of socialist rhetoric that allowed Germany to fall into the hands of a madman now occurring in our country. I don't believe our own socialists want to conquer the world but still have a strong desire to gather power into their own hands (tho I do believe Hillary might be as screwed up as Hitler was). Germany was such an economic mess that citizens allowed the government "to help", and bought into the promises of a brighter future with cars for everybody to wheel around on a great hiway system. I see our own government actively creating a needful, dependent society of sheep who go along with just about anything these leaders want.

I am very afraid...

Gun control is not about the guns.....It's about control, period.
The long and short is:
They can take my guns but they'll take the ammo first.
Merry Christmas All !!!!

The democommies are going to force me from this state.
The state of Washington has obviously gone so far left it is is left of left.

Well, when it comes to Californians, I'd usually suggest they stay in California, but I suppose that if all the good, American loving, constitution defending Washingtonians and Californians were to move to Oregon, we might still have a shot here in Oregon. We have enough of the goof-balls moving here from other states, but let's centralized and have all the people who believe in the 2A that are frustrated by surrounding states all converge in Oregon, and maybe we can prevent the fall of the entire West Coast. ;-)

Tough to do when there are few viable candidates, and parcitularly in Washignton, the state partuy hacks hardly lift a finger to promote any of them. I don't "get" their reasning, either. Seems almost as if they don't give a rip. They're sure adamant about their desire to get MY money out of MY pocket, though. Can't seem to comprehend my frustration at the way the party have handled (read: NOT handled) things these past few elections.

We'll be ready get the training in now boys if you havent ! 12360398_10156395921705078_7482495369535107191_n.jpg

There are so many libtards in Seattle/King County that they overwhelm the rest of the state on statewide issues. Dem's appeal to the needy and government dependent, all of whom vote at least once. Conservatives message is "get up off your butt and make a better life". Doesn't sell well to the masses.

I moved here to be free not to bring the dirt of California socialism in on my shoes. I vote and I vote for our rights.

Wow, that editorial notes that a ballot measure is being prepared to be put on the ballot in 2016 in California that will require that background checks be done on all ammo purchases. So every time you would want to buy some ammo in California, one would have to pay a background check fee and go through the whole background check process.

But this proposal in Washington is even more scary. It is dramatically worse than California's Assault Weapons ban. For they are actually talking about banning POSSESSION of Assault Weapons and high capacity mags. Not just banning future sales and transfers, as they did in California.

That means gun confiscation.

Has the state of Washington really turned that far to the left???? Are Democrats in full control in Washington too? Sounds like you need to elect some more Republicans.

Man! I thought it was bad under Dixie Lee Ray!! I am glad I live about 1500 miles north of where I did in Tacoma, you guys REALLY have my sympathy! :(

Califonia tried that game a couple years ago. UPS and Cheaper than Dirt sued on the gounds of interfereing wiht Interstate Commerce. An equally effective affirmative defense against such a law would be the 14th Article of Ammendment.... if what I do is legal in one state, another state can't make it illegal. UPS and FedEx would not accept the burden imposed upon them by California to instpect every package inbound to the state, and make sure it had no ammunition. Cheaper didn't want to accept the burden of "missing" the fact that a shipment bound to Claifornia might have some ammo in it and thus make Cheaper criminally liable. That measure went down in flames then. Hopefullhy, it will once more.

Fun factoid, too.. one of California's most rabid antigun legislators was Leland Yee..... Representative. He launched many of the more obnoxious gun regs in Calif. He pled guilty to a number of charges of racketeering, giun smuggling (involving full automatic military grade combat rifles, the very type (in civilian version) he helped "ban" in California. International military arms trading seems to have been a fetish of his, at the same time he was busily disarming the people he supposedly represented. As I recall, he's spending an insufficient but ample period of time on the OTHER side the bars down at the local GreyBar Hotel. Looks good on him.

Let's not pull punches: these are traitors and should be tried as such; every politician who tries to circumvent Our Constitution is treasonous. Hopefully an injunction will be issued preventing such an unconstitutional law from being enforced until all legal challenges are exhausted.

I moved here to be free not to bring the dirt of California socialism in on my shoes.

Most people who have looked at this issue (of moving) have discovered the movers tend to be more like the culture they are moving to, than the culture they are moving from. In fact they often exceed the "natives" in this respect.

I spent years watching the Wyoming legislature. It turned out the good old boys, Wyoming natives, were just as prolific at expanding government as the immigrants were. Wyoming is the most conservative state in the nation, with very short legislative sessions (typically 6 weeks per year) but taxes still go up and more and more socialism and welfare comes out of it. You guys think electing conservatives will fix things? You are wrong.

As to the OP, though, never fear. It's not for the rulers to ban firearms. It is only possible if gun owners go along with the idea. Don't worry about confiscation. Worry about whether your neighbor, no matter what his political opinions, is going to turn his guns in when the rulers say he should. If he is inclined to, he is worthless.

To me, the people who complain most about the possibility of a confiscation or ban, are exactly the ones who will bend over and submit when it happens. They are afraid to be tested... If they weren't of a mind to submit, they wouldn't be complaining so much, because it wouldn't affect their actions.

I agree 100% with you Paul! I'm sure that most of us that have owned guns for any length of time at all at one time or another talk among ourselves about which guns are "registered" and which of them we bought when it was still legal to fly the American Flag or "God Forbid" utter the word God in public......I decided a few years ago to stop worrying about which were which. They all belong to me. I acquired them legally and no one is taking any of them as long as I'm still breathing.
