Really reminds me of what took place in New Zealand--that decision to ban guns came about so quickly it seemed like they were all ready for it
They WERE. Gun-grabbers worldwide have a coordinated network with plans all drawn up just waiting for an opening to ram them through, just as the Deep State did with the Patriot Act post-9/11 here.

It will be interesting to see how the compensation plan works out.

.30 US Carbine (which has a detachable magazine) isn't on the list. It's been included in the bans circulating in the US Congress lately.

Just to help you folks out all of us who are registered an firearms owners recently received a notice from The firearms office saying that we may or not be in possession of prohibited firearms and that we need to follow the new guidelines. There was quite a backlash and many of these form letters were returned to the Prime ministers office with some nasty comments. Most of us are really not taking this lying down and view itas a direct attack against legal gun ownership, Law suites, Charter of Rights breach complaints and grassroots non compliance is going to make it ugly up here. There is genuine traction for western Canadian separation, and Canada as a nation has not been so Divided with MR Potato head in Office. This is not going away and Canada is not new Zealand.

Glad to hear people in Canada are not just going to take another ban, buy back sitting down.

What happens when our Northern border becomes more like our Southern Border?
We will welcome most Canadians with open arms- we like them more than many of them like us! Many would bring useful skills and attitudes.. Still it might be better if they stayed in place and agitated for union with the US in some form at least in the prairie and mtn provinces.

Stay strong up there, neighbor. Dunno if you saw it, but lots of lawfare being planned and performed by various large shops over on CanadianGunNutz.

39 Years ago a RC priest/Holy Cross professor told me that in my lifetime I probably would see the break up of Canada caused by the poltics of Quebec. He also talked about the political balkanization of the USA; interestingly he thought we would eventually absorb them, and we would all be better for it except Quebec. They would not be happy, but he was covinced that was ingrained in their nature anyways.

Who knows, he also thought South America would be in the hands of socialist/communist despots for the next 100 years, but he did not forsee what Reagan would do, nor the fall of the Soviet Union which was not far off then, just 2 election cycles away.

I guess there will be an uptick in sales of lever action rifles, pump shotguns, and bolt action rifles. Or every company named and listed will merely change the model designation and features of the rifle? The clever Canadian will redesign their rifles from an offensive and politically incorrect "assault weapon" into a featureless, non-offensive, politically correct and less desirable rifle into a sporting or hunting rifle?

I hope this will inspire Canadians to foster new firearm industries, technology, and designs. That they pursue a new moderate federal government with open transparency into firearms ownership, and actually punishing the criminals who are violent offenders. There's always fluid events in Canada that will create a new 30 second sound bite of pro gun movement. If the Antifa crowd riots on the streets of Ottawa and march to Trudeau's private residence.....I wonder how the liberal Canadians will feel?

Look at the mayor of Seattle when the BLM & Antifa types lead by the city council member who represents capital hill neighborhood protested at her private residence. The mayor was angry, upset and complained loudly to anyone that will hear her. Gosh afraid of looters, rioters and possibly armed demonstrators? What to do???
