These guys were crooks, no doubt about it. Record or not, at least the guys who were shot will think again about how they conduct themselves.

Note to self, bring a couple of loaded mags that fit the stolen gun I'm buying late at night in a dark part of a public park and leave all cash at home, as it won't be needed to purchase said gun.

I think that's in Chapter Two of the Criminal Handbook. Right between "Don't transport your brick of cocaine in a stolen car" and "Don't stab your girlfriend in front of people". ;)

"Bob, its almost 11pm, lets go over the plan"

"Ok, Billy"
"Step one, arrange sale of my baller Hipoint"
"Step two, arrange to meet buyer after dark in part of Portland where the crime map lights up like a Christmas tree"
"Step three, arrange armed escort, full tactical gear, night vision, and put Kevin on the roof of that house over there with the AWM for cover "
"Step four, make the transfer after counting those 5 crisp Hamiltons..."
"Step five, meet up at Shango dispensary for some Afghan Big Bud, huhuhuhuh"

"uh, Bob, what was step three again?"

This is the exact reason the law is BS.
These were bangers selling probably a stolen gun in the ghetto.

Woodlawn park.

This type is ish will always happen. Criminals will always do bad stuff

I would agree that is the most likely scenario here.

But will the press even follow up on this case, and dig any deeper? I very much doubt they will, as it would then not be helpful to their gun control agenda.

All they will do is say "SEE. I TOLD YOU SO. SB941 WAS NECESSARY."

.

And my wife wonders why I carry not only my usual gear, but all my spare mags when we take our daughter to this park...
Also was chatting with a fellow last week about the neighborhood. He grew up in the area and talked about how bad it used to be and how it's cleaned up.
He was astonished by my reply that it's still not great. Unsolved double murder just a couple hundred feet from where this most recent incident occurred, and more.

Sidenote:
Anyone use the app Nextdoor? Most posts on there pain me, but with all the posts about "did you hear the gun shots" on a near weekly basis, not one the night this occurred...

You're both right about that park. It's 100 times better, but I'd still look over my shoulder passing through.
You're doing the right thing, tho I would limit the spare mags to 3 or 4 doublestacks at most...
I can't honestly say I ran into any trouble down there, but I was also never trying to sell a gun in the middle of the night...

yep. Double stack, 3 additional mags, BUG and 2nd mag.
And if we're all there I'm usually on the bridge looking down on my wife and kid.
Well, nobody should take you lightly. They'd be in for it!

Especially if you jumped down on them firing away!

He be all Boondock Saints from above on their arses! :D
