Myself if my family member was killed in Roseburg school shooting I would bring a lawsuit against the school for not providing adequate protection for the students. Her policy of leaving them unarmed and nobody to defend them got those people killed and it was her choice to let that happen. It's not like they can't afford security, schools get lots of money.

Jim has a great point. The UCC idiot made the conscious decision to have UNARMED security using the flawed logic that the cop shop was only a few block away and they would rely on fast response to protect them.

So... now we know that several block now translates to ~9 dead. So if we use that same logic, unless you have cops sleeping in your hallways there will always be dead and dying as they desperately wait for a response.

Who is liable for the carnage while we wait?

We allways say the wrong things at mass shootings, we should ask why nobody was there to protect them in an emotional plea. Oh it was gun free so where was the people who are supposed to protect them? But we declared it gun free, so who did you designate to keep it gun free so nobody brings a gun? Deal is in my point of view, we need to get it back to those in charge and why they left people unprotected with their rules. Then go to the schools and get film of the students fear and get it on the net.

The meetings that they have are public information and thus posted on the net. There is an interesting tidbit from their July 2015 meeting minutes (see page 10 section titled "Old Business").

The report basically says that the board decided to cut one of the "Security Guard" positions to from full-time to part-time. It looks as if the position was held by a Criminal Justice major who was taking classes at the school. They mention that UCC was looking at ways to cut costs since April of 2015. The UCC Board agreed to the job cuts in June 2015 when they adopted their budget.

To no one's surprise they are using the murders in Roseburg as a vehicle to demand a virtual end to gun rights in Oregon.

Here is a sample of their demands:

I give each year to OFF, NRA ( im a lifer NRA) and support is great, but there was no change in several years giving to lobbys they slowed nothing down at all. I actually wont be giving this year I need to see lobbying work and from what I have seen and keep hearing he is one person, seems we need thousands getting involved not everyone sending money and then thinking they did their part. I'm not a young kid either and have seen Gun-lobbys lose effectiveness in this fight last several years in Oregon. I am wondering if people give to the NRA and OFF and 2016 is a sheeet storm, are we going to yet again think oh yea well pray again for OFF and the NRA to make a difference in 2017 , when they have had zero affect so far for years.

Regardless if people like OFF or do not how is one man show going to make a difference if it never made a dent in recalls, election, or sessions. All I seem to see is notices sent out that is duplicated across the internet information that some of this weeks ago even was on NWFA..
If I thought lobbys would work id write them a check for 10k right now. Not discouraging people to give Tkdguy, but I need to see results myself from here out if I am going to give a penny. My fear is people will go right back to the same ole same ole and we will end up dividing forces like we keep doing and OFF and NRA will blame the majority and donations and lobbying will have made no difference. I just want to see where the NRA or OFF made any difference in the last 5 years in Oregon, the last two years have been dismal. And if majority is not going to change how can a one man lobby change it ?

I would like to see a statement by the NRA or OFF what exactly is the plan for Oregon ? Because so far for several years what we get is reporting reporting and no plan ever given to members. We need action, for these donations in my opinion.

Obama has already looked to the UN for help in attempts to enforce gun control on US soil that can circumvent our congressional system via UN legislation which he would declare would supersede American laws.

Just wait, they will pass all the above, and when the next pawn of the Progs shoots up a School full of their innocent pawns see what gun laws they proclaim next! And they still won't put armed guards and CHL holders in the Schools. Where the hell are the Teacher's Unions on this issue? Where the Hell are the Teachers?

What we need is someone with power and influence, with Bloomberg money and the Dem-Anti majority no one is scared by OFF or the NRA. Ok so we have a report from an Oregon lobby that says donate cause bad stuff is going to happen. Can someone please tell me what reporting this stuff does or donating is doing? Is having this information along with no plan, a plan ? I get the emails notices like everyone else. And what I do not see from the NRA or OFF is ok, now what? You told us there are bad things coming and its going to get worse ............. and then they say write people. You mean the same people that didn't listen to us last year or to any lobbys? Isn't this the same letters we got last year and the years before that " act now stop the flood " . What exactly is the plan. The NRA doesn't seem to remember Oregon is still on the Map where is their plan. I gave to NRA and OFF I wrote my Senators um so did lobbys . Thousands showed up for hearings me too. So please tell me again why I am donating to watch these groups do the same thing I am doing as a citizen? Every session press releases are also on the state website. So its not about information. Hearings and testimony did nothing so I am wondering what is the plan......... because eventually they will go after all of our guns and so far doing the same thing each year has not made a dent. I am not saying this to bash anyone, but please do not tell me, give to the cause and then say nothing as to a plan to stop this. Not just talking about it but something with more the a 1% chance like writing and hearings do. The majority at hearings and write in's were Pro-Gun only a handful were antis. Proof the pen is not mighty in this case, perhaps swords need to be considered.

One BIG thing,is people not knowing what is going on in salem when it comes to gun control. Just go out of your comfort zone and start a conversation with some one you really don't know that well. Then, ask what they think about SB941, watch the look on their face, and hear what they say. Most are at a total loss, they don't have a clue what is going on. Its not of interest to them. I've done this even with people i know, that are hunters, shooters, owners of firearms. I've talked with several people i know really well, about 85% of them, maybe more did not know a thing about this, or anything about what the ''people'' (law makers) in salem are planning down the road. ZERO INTEREST, until its too late. I'll add this as well, i contacted the NRA, they said their rep in oregon was working on it, and was aware of what was going on. WOW, what a response.

Where I'm hoping the NRA or OFF would spend money in Oregon?

What's needed is a high intensity local ad campaign against specific key Legislators in Oregon.


The Ads should detail how their bigoted gun policies are going to create an atmosphere where armed gangs and crazies rule our Cities. Use Chicago and Detroit, Sandy Hook and now Roseburg as an example.

Feature Teachers (if you can find any willing to go against their Union) that are opposed to gun free killing zones and restrictions against good guys carrying.

Feature how Bloomberg has bought Oregon politicians. Talk about the arrogant misuse of the Emergency Clause. "First they came for your guns and I didn't speak up, then they came for my SUV and nobody spoke for me......".

Show the real statistics not the slanted BS spewed out by the Progs on gun deaths, violent crime etc.

The web should be flooded with these Ads, I-5 should have Billboards, the local news should be showing these types of ads all the time.

How much could that cost? I see local small business ads all the time on local news.

Local news will not carry anything concerning those GOD awful guns. I think the local news station needs to be told that you will not watch them until they change their attitude. Buy space in the nickel under sporting goods opposing Salem's position and etc. Cheap advertising
