That area from 122- 148ish is shooting central. I remember driving back from sledding on a Friday night and having to drive around police cordons for two seperate shootings in that area. Imo it's the most active area for shootings, followed by "felony flats" and ne close in second. Glad cops got him.
Two Portland officers, a man and a woman, were on the sidewalk talking to a man, and then it appeared they were trying to take him into custody and handcuff him when the man struggled and resisted
"He fought back, resisted and pulled out a gun," Ponte said of the man police were attempting to handcuff. "The guy pulled out his own gun, and the male cop put his hand on either the pistol or the man's wrist."
He said he believes the man struggling with the two officers fired a single shot from a pistol.
After the gunshot, the male officer continued to struggle with the suspect. At some point, the male officer grabbed the man's pistol, had it in one hand and was struggling with the man with his other hand
As the man and the male officer continued to wrestle, the female officer fired six shots into the man struggling with her partner, killing him, Ponte said.

good for her!!

This guy ran his stolen truck into a cop on foot and an elderly woman in a car a couple hours ago in that 148th Ave area.

That's what the guy gets for stealing a Ford. He should of known it was gonna break down before he got home.....🙄

I know this is old but if more people did this people wouldn't steal so much....

I could not read it as it was on the other side of a pay wall but, if its like it sounds from the headline? GREAT! Hope they take it to a jury and refuse to take a plea. Let them find 12 people in that crap hole who will convict them.

Yeah it is what the headline says lol. If people got beat for stealing lots would stop. When visiting Korea I asked my aunt if anyone stole at the open markets. She simply said if you got caught you would need to call the police for help yourself, you wouldn't just have that owner beat you but all the neighbors as well.

According to the bureau, the incident unfolded after a public safety support specialist, who is not a sworn officer, responded at 8:39 a.m. to take a report on the stolen pickup near Southeast 153rd Avenue and Powell Boulevard.

Read this? The once great city of Portland sends out a "Safety Support Specialist"! Ain't that something!?!
I feel safer already.:s0157:
