Those refillable 1lb propane cans are the best thing since sliced bread!
As easy to fill as a big tank, even has a bleed valve and DOT approved.
Haven't done the math, but probably costs about $.25 to fill.

You don't need to bleed the tank if you freeze it before filling...

Are you refilling it from a larger tank you have…. a 20lb tank? With an adapter…

I am (not sure about the OP of this subject)
That's about $.56 for a refill versus $6 for a disposable.
Have 8 refillable 1 lb tanks, and use a 20lb tank to refill them because the 40 & 50 lb tanks are not easy to invert.
Those little tanks are great, you can run all your camping gear for cheap.

I use a 20lb tank inverted, it's easy to do so and I just ordered a refill adapter with a hose and valve on the tank adapter for easy control.

Just got the 2 more flame king refillable bottles, will put them in the freezer and then fill them without wasting any propane...

Hose and tank temp deferential is the way.

Never been a big propane guy, guess I should be. Gas and Kerosene (inc lamps, heaters) ready to go 1899. A friend was only a few days ago and started laughing about that - wtf? - are those Kerosene lamps like from the 1880s, like Tombstone? LOL - ahh oh well. He may not be laughing in years to come. You know the type. If his mobile phone went offline for a day he'd be looking for a bridge.

I didn't encounter a lot of white gas, or kerosene….. either available fuel or hardware when I started doing any camping or preping. Some white gas stoves and protane for lite camping in any altitude.

Just stick with the hardware you know and the fuel that doesn't go "bad"

See a lot of free pro…. Cylinders often…. Identify the 3 knob valve handle and just fill/swap. But if you know the right corner store…. Even a new valve , recert and fill is cost effective for a forever gas.

RE: Kerosene Heating
Remember to have a source of fresh air and a way to ventilate the combustion gases.

I've been using a kerosene heater in my 2 car garage while loading up ammo. To me, it's the right size (18k BTU) for this application.

Where do you get kerosene now a days?

My source for Kerosene is......

I believe the last time I filled my empty containers (a month ago) I paid $5.50 a gallon. Go down there (leave the empty containers outside) and speak to the office staff. A guy will escort you outside to the pump and will fill up your container(s) for you.

Aloha, Mark

Ran a few Norma subsonic HP match rounds thru my new (to me) Christensen Ranger today. With my bad hearing, it sounds almost hearing safe with that ammo. I would bet with a suppressor or a longer barrel, it would very quiet.

With the synthetic stock, 16" CF barrel, aluminum action, a good scope - this would be a good rifle for hunting small game. I would wear my muffs with the mics turned up so I could hear game and move quietly by hearing myself moving.

I had my annual general checkup and lab workup (including "do you feel safe at home? do you get enough to eat? etc" - yes mom).

Got a script for one of my meds that will result in me having 3 years of those meds - more if I use them as needed, which I do.

Next week I have my cardiology checkup and vision checkup.

Midway delivered the 1K rounds of Win 5.56 SP (FBI overrun) ammo - it looks ok, nothing special - but I will do a feed and expansion test when the weather clears and warms up.

I've got two more CRKT Catchall knives coming today or tomorrow (USPS says today, but you can't trust them to deliver when they say they will).

I get those too (guessing we all do) including if we are are engaged in risky sexual/ social behavior, what our internet presence is, are there firearms in the house, drug/alcohol/tobacco/caffeine use, our outlook of life, criminal record or activities, what we find stressful etc. ad nauseum...

I leave them all blank except for the tobacco use (I smoke) and the alcohol ( I don't drink) and i do answer the actual health- related questions, because those are the only actual health related questions on the list.
The rest is just woke crap and none of their business.

I got very little, it was about 10 verbal questions, some specific (drugs/alcohol/smoking) and the general ("do you feel safe"). No questions about guns or internet or criminal anything.

I did mention that I have of late noticed that I seem to more often have trouble find the word I was searching for (i.e., Lethologica); e.g., I was trying to describe the problem with my right foot to my massage therapist - the word I was searching for was "numb" - it took me a minute.

They asked me to draw a clock and point the hands to 11:10 - shrug
