Does anyone know how I can find the age of my 30/30? It's a hand me down family relic with a 4 digit serial number and I'd really like to know how old it is.

WOW, that's awesome. Depending on which source you check, it's from either 1894 or 1895

Sweet!Yeah the serial is 3XXX I've got one of those feelings that's its worth a fair amount too. I'll never sell it though.

i don't. i have guns that i have shot twice and have no use for, but am reluctant to sell because they were my grandfathers.
