I really appreciate some good gun porn now and then. But Ive been looking for the right deal on an 8 or 81 for well over a year now, and until I have my own, I get real jealous when folks like you and @partsed put em up.:(
If it makes you feel any better this one doesnt fire and is scratched up, due to my ar build its gunna be a while before its working again.
Itll be even longer if that python in the classifieds stays available

The new Hog slayer...

I took this to the gun show with me just to display and show off... Some fella just had to have it. I told him not for sell unless you wanna give me my rediculous price... which wasn't rediculous enough evidently....:s0058:
Seriously... I'm choked up over it!
Moral of the story never take a gun to the show that your not prepared to sell. Second show in a row this happened to me.

I had just received a probably fatal diagnosis in 2008 when this was posted, but I didn't believe it. That I can read this post 10 years later is a miracle. Anyway, I always worried about stopping power more than firepower. So... I thought that .444 Marlin would take the worry out of being close.

EDIT: A Competitor SS Pistol with interchangeable barrels in 350+ calibers. Rotary cannon-style breech. Up to .458 Winchester magnum, if one is truly stout-wristed. I have barrels in .223 and .25-06 as well. It is a development of the flawed SSP-86 that was made by Ordinance Technology of Stetson, Maine. That gun later became the SSP-91, which then split off into the Lone Eagle (non-changeable barrels) and the Competitor. The brake helps, but even 180 grain pills in 444 are not something to shoot all day. The .25-06 is much nicer, pushing Hornady V-Max 75 grainers out at about 3450 FPS.

Glad you're still around to enjoy this thread, po18guy.
Thank you very much! In short, 1 cancer, then 2 cancers then 3 cancers, then a stem cell transplant. 18 chemotherapy drugs in 9 regimens, 1,000 years of background radiation from too many scans to count. Forget how many lymph node and skin biopsies. Now in my 4th clinical trial - but who's counting?

Frankly, I am delighted to be anywhere.
