I wear a similar rig to that when I go out. The difference is, instead of pasties, I wear a longer shirt or coat, depending on the season. The other difference is, even though I may print on occasion, I never get asked to leave a store. No one but me ever knows...

But hey. If you want to, you get to deal with the consequences, not me. So have at it. (I will get flamed for this next comment) Please try not to hurt our cause by getting in trouble or scaring the **** out of people. Just be low-key about it (hopefully you are)...

The post office comes under Federal Law, which title (Firearms in Federal Facilities) has paragraph D under "Exceptions", and states that exceptions to the prohibition include hunting and self-defense. Thus, a lawfully armed civilian CAN be armed in a post office.

The should post the WHOLE law, not just the part they like.

be safe tattoo.. last night on the news some guy in vancouver got arrested for open carry at some vancouver mall. it was on my local news channel here in eugene..and i was suprised that the local eugene newscaster even said that it is legal to open carry in washington as well as oregon, but he did quote some law in washington about public disturbance?. or something to that affect.

The Columbian (Clark County) has a back-page article about the OC arrest in Vancouver:
The guy OCed in Vancouver Mall the day before (with his wife) and was escorted out by the rentacops.

He wasn't arrested, just ticketed. The store owner (of a Karate School) was afraid of a MWAG, called 911.

The county prosecutor is trying to figure out what to charge him with (or if he can). The cops didn't know the law, the public didn't know the law, and the prosecutor apparently doesn't either.

More to follow, I'm sure.

I love how he even quoted and linked to the law,
"(1) It shall be unlawful for any person to carry, exhibit, display, or draw any firearm, dagger, sword, knife or other cutting or stabbing instrument, club, or any other weapon apparently capable of producing bodily harm, in a manner, under circumstances, and at a time and place that either manifests an intent to intimidate another or that warrants alarm for the safety of other persons."

Just carrying it on a belt holster does not manifest an intent to intimidate anyone or warrants alarm for safety of other people.
Behavior while carrying it does, so if he was being violent, aggressive, just plain crazy, yes, it would manifest an intent to intimidate and warrant alarm. However, just someone shopping with it on their hip does not.

Also, in the comments, what retard wrote this?
"Down with the NRA!!! Training a minor in the use of a firearm should be punishable by death."
1: It's safer to train them then for them to not know anything and kill themselves on accident, 2: there was nothing related to this at all.
The guy is psycho and looney, and probably a strong supporter of the Brady campaign. Not even being related to the conversation, just yelling anti-gun propaganda.

Well I guess this kind of stuff is bound to happen. I open carry with my 11 yr old by my side as if nothing was going on. He has been shooting handguns and rifles with me for two years now. I see it as, if I teach him about guns now, when he is young, then he will be less likely to PLAY with them as he grows up and goes over to other kids houses where there parents may not be as responsible with there guns as I am with mine. (our guns) I will continue to teach him and his friends that go with us. As I open carry, I break NO laws. That is what I teach my kids. It is just what I do.

you guys got balls lol.... I honestly support open carry 100% but im to chicken S*** to do it in most stores... I just hate confrontation.. and whenever i seem to do it someone comes an asks me to leave. maybe i just have bad luck

As some have said what good are rights that are not exercised? I am not saying you should open carry if you don't want to or are not comfortable with it. I see no reason to stop someone else from doing so though as long as they do so in a legal and responsible manner.

I agree, for some reason the public at large and even LEO's are not aware of the legality of it, and have been brainwashed into believing it is dangerous and illegal. I applaud those who endevor to change that perception.

Since this thread started Ive followed lead and started to OC more and more. Ive always OC but not to the point of doing it on purpose, mostly cause I live in a rural area and if its covered, its covered, if its not, its not! Today was different.

Started out at Prime Time for breakfast in Forest Grove. Everything was cool. Next was an appliance store in Hillsboro, same thing, cool. Home Depot in Hillsboro was great also, but did get some strange looks, still cool though. Back to the appliance store to make a purchase, good to go. Next was Starbucks in Cornelius. I didnt go there cause of the recent BS, I went there because I go there all the time and the people know me by name. (They never knew I carried until today) Felt kinda weird cause of the Cornelius police, Washington County Sheriff, and Forest Grove police were all sittin in there havin coffee. Probably bout 10 of them together. The conversation that they were havin amongst themselves ended and I could feel their laser eyes cuttin through my head. When I left, I was fully expecting to get hassled but no one followed. Starbucks worked. Finally ended at McMenamins Grand Lodge. Was goin good for about an hour until the property manager came out and asked to see my CHL. Some lib felt threatened and asked for me to be removed. The manager was very cool and asked me to cover it up as opposed to making me leave. He was actually very very cool about the whole thing. Felt kinda bad I think for havin to ask me. All in all, Great Day....I WILL NOW OPEN CARRY!!! Thanks Tattoo!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I frequent the same area as you do and really appreciate a more local report out. Now if I could just over come my apprehension I will join you in openly carrying. Well I also need to buy a decent open carry holster first since all of mine are of the concealed carry kind.

I have felt those same lasers on me FWIW while concealed carrying one morning in a local restraunt having breakfast with my family. Police having breakfast a few tables over obviously spotted that I was carrying. Like you they didn't bother me at all but I did feel that they kept a close eye on me.

Good to here DBA. Sounds like you had a great day. Increased your heart beat a bit goin for coffee but what the heck, It all has to start somewhere. :s0155: I have yet to get the BIG STINK EYE from any one yet, that I noticed. All is going good for me and I will continue on. :)

I believe it all depends on the way you carry/conduct yourself while you OC... if you are a "normal" person going about your business and not acting like a jack-hole, most folks will assume you are "supposed" to OC as they would most likely assume you're a cop or someone in (or with) "authority".
