Just goes to show how easily this could happen to any one of us. Stay frosty.
HEY . . . He said "spooked" . . . He said "spooked."
Just a little high.
Crazy video! I'm glad these two were not hurt. Did the police catch the burglars?
Not as of yet, it just happened on the 12 I guess. Apparently this was in South Africa? There's a news article below the video on YouTube.
you know, I just love how rapidly the sleeping man deployed his hand cannon once he woke up from the gunshot downstairs.
Looks like he sleeps with his steel under the pillow...
I showed it to my wife for that very reason. I was like "see! Do you see!? Im not an anomaly, other people do that too! And this is why!!!"
Cats are pretty worthless.
Girlfriend had good trigger control after taking the shot.
I'm too afraid to keep any pistol in bed with me. I roll around a lot...so the 1911 with night sights is directly on the night stand and ready to go!
I sleep with my gun in a Blackhawk bedside holster that fits between the mattress and box spring.
I had a set up like the bed holster as well. Then my wife redecorated and there's not enough room between the bed and the nightstand any more.
I should probably add that I never have one loaded in the chamber under the pillow. I tend to stay relatively still when I sleep but it's still not worth the risk.
I keep a razor sharp machete between the mattresses, handle out. A .45 auto 2 feet away from the bed in a secret trapdoor. A 12 ga. Rem 870 tactical under the bed and an extra 9mm under the night stand in a quick draw holster. I also keep 3 high powered lights handy (1000+ lumen) capable of blinding anything. I'm proficient with all my weapons and I'm a light sleeper so if my dog doesn't do the job I can assist.
I put the bedside holster about 24" down the bed. I have nightstand as well but I can draw very quickly if I have to. I keep the gun hidden by the bedspread.
I keep one in the chamber too.
I keep mine in the closet. My alarm system Freddie ( not a cat ) will wake me up with plenty of time to get it.
Mine is right over my head on my headboard...I practice grabbing it quickly and bringing it into 'play' should any nasties slip past my old deaf kitty......
Can't wait until our puppy gets here!
sleeping in different rooms from each other.
high tech security system.
hmm. good tactic when traveling in south africa.
I think I might trade the kitties off for 3 Rhodesian ridgebacks instead
