Just about anywhere you go on the Internet, this forum, Facebook, political correctness is insisted on as a modi operandi. I get it! Rules have to be in place to keep the discourse respectful. Although, PC has crossed the line and become ridiculous; and, subtly infringed on our Freedom of Speech.

Freedom of speech. I agree with it of course. But I also recognize that SO MANY have misinterpreted freedom of speech to mean THEIR FEELINGS are somehow more important than facts.

And you just described those who FEEL the US is outdated and everything needs changing--the Constitution, Gun rights, nationalism to globalism (which will end the need of war), Climate Change, and replace anything that resembles Judeo-Christian laws. Anti-semitism is on the increase worldwide, because supporting Israel, they feel, supports strife. They FEEL peace is the only answer, so take away everyone's guns, including the police. They FEEL, gunless law enforcement works in the UK, so the US is next! Clearly, our First Amendment was infringed upon, and we were all silent--nobody even talks about it, since it was so subtle. The peace advocates have become bolder! Now, they openly talk about a gun ban. Oh, we say, it will never happen! We are just one election away from the second amendment being history! What's really sad, is that we FEEL to name name's and talk openly about the Socialist takeover is somehow divisive. The divide has already happened, and tiptoeing through the tulips merely shows we are complying with the takeover and acknowledging that our first amendment right has greatly diminished. And what's really even more disturbing, anyone like myself has become the divider and troublemaker, because if we don't want peace at all costs, they FEEL we are the PROBLEM, not the solution to peace!

I wonder how many, who want to control guns and ammo, ever even owned or I fired a gun before? My guess is that they know less than I knew a year ago. I didn't know the differences between shotgun gauges, nor could I explain what a centerfire rifle was or the various calibers. There's still so much I don't know! Here's my point, I expect anti-gun advocates suffer from sheer ignorance! They see no correlation to gun violence and criminals.

There is no interest in learning anything about them; all that is known to the Anti-Gunner is that children are dying in schools and firearms must be eradicated from all citizens, regardless of the fact that these laws are not effective on those committing the crimes.

The more I read the current situation in Oregon: SB 501, IP 43 (will be on 2020 ballot this time), and dozens more it is obvious we are talking the matter of years and not decades in which firearms will need to be turned in. The fact is, 99% of law abiding gun owners will simply turn the guns in, very few will forcefully push back. The police will be coming in full force as swat teams and the fantasy of gun owners "shooting back and defending the 2nd amendment" is just that, a fantasy on the law abiding citizen.

Just look at what is happening with the red flag laws... I've been re-considering my upcoming AR build, looking into an MPR, at this point and how things have played out in Oregon it feels like it will be wasted money and effort despite how much I fight back, vote, try to educate people on actual facts. At the end of the day, feelings are trumping facts and this is seen first hand in the laws that continue to get passed.

I shoot 5-10,000 rounds of 9mm and 5.56 a year. I don't have time or patience to reload that :)

If ammo gets scarce I will play more paintball.

Can you shoot 22lr, if you own a 22lr firearm, and mix in FAR LESS of 9mm and 5.56 firearm shooting in a year's time frame?

I used to own/shoot several calibers in firearms (Back east and out here.) including 22lr and the only way that I could AFFORD to shoot my now 'former' 10,000 rounds per year is by shooting FAR MORE 22lr than any other caliber in handguns and in rifles.

Don't laugh at this now but shooting a Red Ryder 1938 Replica bb rifle is fun too. Especially if you shoot at or into a metal coffee can not just at a paper target.

Best wishes to you.

Therapeutic... Ideal therapy for my OCD...

That is what my MT husband says. He has been reloading for over 40 years.

Plus he could NOT have been able to shoot as many CF firearms as he did for so many years - so many rounds in various calibers. He used to compete a LOT using CF handguns from a to z. He shot and reloaded for various rifles and for several of his former shotguns too. He no longer owns a shotgun. The last one went bye bye.

Disclaimer: My late husband and I never reloaded but we were planning on getting into it. I have no desire to do it now. Plus I only shoot RF rifles now.

5k-10k would last me the rest of my unnatural life!!!

I only shoot RF rifles as you know. Mainly the CZ 455 Lux 22lr rifle.

I don't shoot that much any longer on an annual basis.

I still keep 10,000 rounds of 22lr ammunition on hand for myself. I was going to give most of it to my husband and he told me that I should keep that amount on hand for myself even if I shoot far LESS now.

I rotate it and I have my husband use some of it with his own supply of RF ammunition too.

When he reloads now, he reloads far less loads per caliber compared to when he used to compete. Plus he owns far less CF firearm CALIBERS and fewer CF and RF firearms TOTAL than he used to own.

He has enough new/fresh reloading supplies to last him through his retirement until he can no longer shoot if that time ever comes in his life.

That goes for me in what I and/or we have in RF stock if I am still shooting at such a LOW level too. He or I may only have to replace a few bulk boxes 'on and off' compared to how I used to plan and stock up ahead of time in my former HIGH volume shooting days. We would still replace what we used in RF ammunition but it would be far less on an annual basis.

Good shooting to you!

Mark my words... they will go after ALL reloading supplies.

They will figure out how to cut off the supplies and not just go after specific types, brands and calibers of firearms, magazines, parts, etc.

^^Man, this is absolutely true IMO. With the advent of 24/7 internet nightmare, the media is able to put spotlight anything they choose to, and especially anything that puts a burr up the arse of the Right. If we get another anti-gun Congress and White House (it has happened before) and another Nicholas Cruz, we are all done for.

The only hope is to somehow get security protocols in place at all the schools.

Agreed, 1,000%...

We're coming up on the 20th anniversary of Columbine and only a tiny percentage of schools have sufficient security protocols in place today. Listen a 10X10 Lexian interlock vestibule wouldn't break the bank, it would give office staff the opportunity to vett visitors before allowing them to proceed into the school. And wouldn't break the bank...

Our legislators don't give a dang about the children, if they did, they would have taken measure long ago. We secure our courts and judges, we secure our legislators at all levels of government. But our most important asset, the next generation, is left to fend for themselves...

Mic drop...
