If you carry a gun for self defense, you better not make any changes to the gun (new grips, action job,etc), because if you're involved in a self defense shooting, the prosecutor will make the jury believe that you think you are Rambo. My number one pet peeve is the term "bring back" on surplus weapons. Followed by some far fetched story about some surplus rifle/pistol.

I generally find, in my experience, that it's the people on the far left with a poor command of the language and they are usually the ones making personal attacks rather than discussing topics with logic. I see quite often in the comment sections on conservative blogs left wing radicals spewing hate and venom with loads of misspelled words and poor grammar not to mention an inability of proving their case. As far as Palin goes, I wouldn't say she's hot, interesting, but not hot and certainly not Presidential material.

Allowing ourselves to be divided is "political" suicide.

There is plenty of blame for the state of our Nation to spread around....Neither red nor blue have clean hands on the mess we're in.. Yet...

We "the enlightened", the folks that claim to not be "sheeple"...Folks that have watched both sides of the coin scratch away our rights....We argue, emphatically and incessantly amongst each other about which side is worse.

Now that's absurd!!!

We should be arguing .45 vs. 9mm or AR vs AK..

Bristol clearly wasn't the best dancer, why would anyone vote for her? I think it's absurd that someone would vote for her because who she is, and not because she was the best. Bristol isn't even a star, she's a unmarried teen mother/daughter of an ex-governor (with presidential aspirations) who's made a series of bad decisions. How does that make someone a STAR? If the show was called "Dancing with unmarried teen mothers/daughters of ex-governors (with presidential aspirations) who's made a series of bad decisions" then she'd get my vote.

Yeah, that annoys me too. I am all for exposing bad cops when they actually break the law or violate someone's right...unfortunately, most of the complaints and stories you read on the net usually involve no criminal activity but more often a perceived slight to some bubba's ego.

+1 on that. I have known some great police officers. Have meet a few bad ones, in the end most bad cops don't make it long in their careers.

My fave is describing a gun as a "piece of art" or a particular gunsmith as an "artist". Geez, if it's art, take it out of the safe and put in on the wall already. Or, get your gunsmith/artist an exhibit in a museum so the world can enjoy their mastry of the 1911 or AR or some other weapon invented by an industrialist and mass produced for military use.

this also sort of makes me roll my eyes.. there are some smiths out there that do some very artistic work on 1911s- make them look almost organic, where every edge and corner is perfectly radiused, joints are perfectly blended into each other, and deeply polished to an almost translucent finish. it's hard not to recognize these guns are works of art, in their own right. and for $5,000, it better bubblegumin be.

what makes me roll my eyes is the fact that there's a market for such things, i guess. there was a time when i would drool over a custom built 1911.. but my whole perspective has evolved to the point that i simply don't put any value in a weapon beyond it's ability to effectively employ as a killing device. therefor, i'd take a glock 17 over any 1911... and leave out the gilded scrollwork, please.

True, True. And once a bad officer is CONVICTED of an offense, get rid of him. With the mass media we have today, all it takes is a story or two of a bad one and the internet commandos start to call for all their heads.

And for real, if I had the dough I'd carry a .45 on one hip, 9mm on the other, AK over one shoulder & AR over the other! Then I could argue which is better with the screaming multi-partisan voices in my head
