And for real, if I had the dough I'd carry a .45 on one hip, 9mm on the other, AK over one shoulder & AR over the other! Then I could argue which is better with the screaming multi-partisan voices in my head

Well I've got everything but the 9mm so I have to substitute several .45's or a .357 SIG to make up for it!

So you doubt his "orientation" because he would not sleep with a women he doesn't find attractive? Not even to mention the fact that he is most likely married. WOW! That's absurd!

Actually, he probably doubts it because I am very openly gay.

I for one would much rather sleep with my Glock than with Sarah Palin. My Glock looks better and is much better company. Plus I would not have to spend most of the night correcting my Glock's grammar.

How about, " it's a solution looking for a problem". You usually get that that from commando wanna-bees when someone introduces a new piece of equipment or ammo. I've seen it a lot when new ammo , or caliber, hits the market. I've seen it written about the 357sig, 400 corbon, 500 S&W, etc. Heck, with that kind of logic we'd still be shooting flintlocks.

What is one ridiculous thing you see people say all the time in gun forums that just gives you a giggle. It can be anything from a common misconception or an irrational statement up to obvious exaggerations or ninja speak.

Every now and then someone starts a thread after panicking because they heard from a friend that gun "x" has had issues. Usually it is a big bunch of nothing. Still there is seldom a shortage of negative Nancy's just waiting to bash a gun that does not happen to be their preferred firear. Usually they have never even owned one but there always seems to be the one person who comes along as says "I have owned ten of them!" (or some other absurd numer) "Each and every one was complete junk!!!" I always get a laugh out of such absurd statements. At what point are we supposed to start disbelieving their story. After they bought three bad ones and still bought a forth? After they bought five bad ones and still bought a sixth?

I've always found this one kind of interesting. It tends to reveal a little bit of irrational bias I've never quite understood.

For example, take the Sig Mosquito. A lot of bad talk about that gun. Why? Because it's "picky with ammo" or that it's "finicky." That is, there quite a lot of ammo out there that it won't feed or extract well, and people tend to hold that against the gun, particularly since there exist guns that seem to digest whatever you put into them.

Then there's the Ruger Mini-30. Widely reported to have issues with Wolf (and just about any other variety of steel-cased ammo). Suddenly, it's the ammo's fault even though a manufacturer with half the reputation for quality control (specifically Century Arms) can put out a gun that feeds with 100% reliability with any ammo you feed it, and all at half the price.

Is whether it's the gun's fault or the ammo's determined by how much one spends on the gun?
