"Obama is a socialist/communist."

Cheeze, he's from HARVARD LAW SCHOOL! And he has spent the last two years desperately trying to keep the big Wall Street banks and the Big Three automakers from going out of business. Even his big health care reform protects the income of the filthy rich drug manufacturers and health insurance companies. If he was a socialist he would not be risking his career protecting fat-cat capitalists!..............................elsullo

Obama did not save anyone; he did impoverish the american tax payer and increase Govt control over 60% of the US economy as well as allowed BP to destroy the GOM and collapse our domestic energy industry. Obamma is not a socialist he is a none native born Marxist, the abandoned son of an tribal african Marxist who also went to Harvard and wrote one paper in his life declaring that goverment was entitled to tax people at 100% for "social justice"

I've always found this one kind of interesting. It tends to reveal a little bit of irrational bias I've never quite understood.

Then there's the Ruger Mini-30. Widely reported to have issues with Wolf (and just about any other variety of steel-cased ammo). Suddenly, it's the ammo's fault even though a manufacturer with half the reputation for quality control (specifically Century Arms) can put out a gun that feeds with 100% reliability with any ammo you feed it, and all at half the price.

Is whether it's the gun's fault or the ammo's determined by how much one spends on the gun?
I really don't understand your point. The early Mini-30's were never enginered to fire com-block ammo or even use an extended mag. I would say they were enginered to SAAMI Specs but that's not true either, the bore size on early production rifles was .308 not .310 as Com-block examples are spec'd at.
As far as chambering steel cased ammo goes Com-block weapons have very loose chambers while Ruger chambers are closer to what you find in a bolt action. Because steel cased ammo does not seal the chamber carbon builds up in the chamber. Mini chamberss are difficult clean and inspect due to the receiver design so many owners never even look in the chamber.
My Mini is a #189 I bought new and I have had to perform several modifications and add $300.00s in upgrades to get it to shoot groups smaller than 6MOA reguardless of ammo type, in fact I am still working on it now, hoping to get it down to 4MOA using the techniques that turned my #187 Mini-14 into a 1.5 MOA shooter.
The "new" #500 series minies are much better shooters out of the box.
Personaly I would choose an AK-74 next time.

People that obsess and prep constantly for survival when SHTF and yet are so unfit/obese that they are 1000x more likely to die on their couch choking on their last Twinkie. :s0114:

Why be in a good shape, they have a gun? LOL

Contrary to this imaginary 21 foot concept and some antiquated color code of (safeness, awareness, shenanigans) Things happen just out of two arms reach or just within a whole lot, you may need to fight to get to the gun, how do you do that when you get winded getting off the couch?

Good call 8ball

My point was... sometimes when you got a gun that won't work well with a large variety of ammo of the appropriate caliber, when it's a cheaper gun, people blame the gun, and say it's picky; if it's a more expensive gun, or a gun from a manufacturer too many people consider almost sacred, yet the firearm in question exhibits the same exact problem, it's the ammo that gets blamed.

For example, the Sig Mosquito is knocked for being picky, because it doesn't work too well with a large variety of .22lr that other .22lr semi-autos seem to be able to handle just fine.

Likewise, the Mini-30 won't work too well with a large variety of ammo in its respective caliber, but in the gun forums, when someone posts a thread titled "Why won't my Mini-30 work with Wolf?" The most common answer will be "It's that lousy Wolf ammo!" Even though likewise, many 7.62x39 semi-autos can handle it just fine.

Simply put, same problem, but people tend to lay the blame the way their biases lead them to rather than drawing the more logical conclusion.

The one that always gets me is "The Goverment is going to take your guns away.":s0114:

You have a better chance of getting hit by lightning before government agents enter the home of law abiding citizens and forcibly remove legally owned weapons.

Another that makes me laugh is "I need a gun for when the SHTF!"

What exactly are we talking about? The collapse of American society into a Somalia type hellhole ruled by armed warloards? Where you stand alone to defend yourself against roving bands private piratical militias?

Someone actually thinks this will happen so soon that they need a gun NOW? Definitely one of the stupidest things i've ever heard.
