I can agree with that but I would add that it should be done safely. you have no legal right except in an emergency to break either of these laws 1) stay out of the fast lane excpet to pass or 2) the speed limit - what is so hard to understand about this - if I am in the right lane it can be assumed that I am passing someone 90% of the time ( I am not perfect by far ) but there are those that feel that I am not passing fast enough, those who make up there own speed limit - who is being dicouteous there. By the way it is perfectly leagal to use Cruise control and I use it, it saves on gas. If you want to drive without speed limits, drive on the autobahn or a race course - the roads are posted and for good reasons.

You are not the enforcer of traffic laws.. your responsibility is to obey the laws and that includes you moving over for faster traffic, period

Blitzkreig - pretty simple, if you are being dumb dont expect me to help you or support you by moving out of your way just because you dont like how I drive. Not looking for a fight but I guess you are. You have no legal right to break the law and I have no legal responsibility to drive as you want me to as long as am I not breaking laws. Dont like it - get another life. I had let this thread die until you threw the next rock. I think you are being rather "narrow minded", kind of a shame, I gave you more credit than that, guess it was misplaced.

Here more for a fight than a discussion.

And I'm not taking about Mr Ruby

"Narrow Minded"? Who is insisting upon "their" right to drive slow in the fast lane??

Apparently cant read either - I said and I quote "as long as am I not breaking laws" This means that if the law says you are to stay in the right lane excpet to pass then thats what it means. However if I am passing some one I can take as long as I want providing I am not acting unsafe. Dont like it too bad.

Well James Ruby,
You were obviously unaware of the law I quoted. I just hate when libtards are unaware of the law--Just trying to help your liberal butt out dude, I know there isn't much hope for you, but I'm Hopeful.

You know I really dont need any help and especially from a loser like you - but thanks for trying to explain the law to me. Life must be tough for you, for the dumb it always is.

Don't be surprised or bubblegum about it when you get forced or bumped into the median then. Also, you should probably stay in Oregon.

Just try it and you may end up losing as well. Physical contact between vehicles and a threat like that is just dumb. You guys really do need to invest in an education - your showing your stupidity.

The law quoted about impeding traffic in Arizona is also law in Oregon. If you have more than five vehicles behind you, you MUST yield to them. There is no reference to speed. ORS Title 59 Chapter 811.315 Failure of slow driver to drive on right; 811.320 Failure to drive to right on divided highway.

Oh snap. The irony. Gonna have to find another justification now.

(4) A person is not in violation of the offense described under this section if the person is proceeding as part of a funeral procession under the direction of a funeral escort vehicle or a funeral lead vehicle.

There ya go, just tell the LEO that when you were in the passing lane with the cruise control set, passing cars every once in a while with twenty cars behind you that you were leading them in a funeral procession.:s0155:

I drive 20,000 miles a year. My driving pet peeves:
1. slow or even moderately paced drivers who sit in the left lane and clog up traffic. the left lane is the passing lane people!
2. drivers who merge without paying attention to the speed of traffic. most of these folks don't even bother to signal, they just hug the white line at 40 mph and force me to significantly alter my speed
3. drivers who slam on their brakes and turn into a shopping center or driveway without signalling. try signalling your intentions so you don't get your bumper squashed!
4. inattentive drivers. I cannot tell you how many people I see texting on the freeway. I saw some lady on 405 with a cigarette in one hand and a cell phone in the other. I'm not kidding!
5. drunk drivers. don't even think about it doing it. how would you feel if you killed somebody because you were stupid enough to drink and drive?

As a resident of Arizona I challenge you to find ANYONE who has ever received such a ticket.

Nice necro on this thread.

Nice necro on this thread.

And yet, months later, it's still hilarious to see how much of an asshat Ruby made of himself......"I am not a policewoman, but I don't have to support your decision to drive over the speed limit by moving out of the passing lane in a timely fashion, so there!" "Oh, and eveyone else is stupid, but not me"

Hilarious

I drive 300 miles a day, 5 days a week. Here is what I have learned.
N Idaho drivers are horrible
people speeding is far less annoying than people driving slow
the police don't usually care unless you are driving unsafe
bicyclists should have to be randomly beaten or have a bounty on their heads for causing more traffic accidents than anyone else (Sandpoint, Id is a superb example)
roundabouts are a great thing if people would have any clue as to what "Yield" means
N Idaho drivers suck
Talking or texting is really dangerous
Old people cannot be trusted to even come close to caring about speed laws
Young people just want to get there fast
If you practice basic courtesy everyone is happier
They remove turn signal switches from all vehicles sold in N. Idaho
N. Idaho Sheriffs are good people while Spokane Sheriffs must hate their lives and must make you feel the same.
N Idaho drivers need to learn to drive.
