An early morning shooting outside a bar in Des Moines early Sunday left three people dead and at least three others injured. Police said they had no suspects as of Sunday afternoon, but were interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage.

It's in a seedy area to begin with. I see police around that area all the time. Des Moines is a small city with big city crimes. I learned a lot after doing the DMPD citizens academy and going on ride alongs.

Even back in the late 80's it was a shlthole with gangs, murders and ramped crime.
Three months after I arrived in that area with my young family for a big Boeing telephone job, the owners of the motel we stayed at were murdered there… good enough reason to leave the LA stronghold..
