For as much flak as I may catch for this, there's more to life than just guns. Push comes to shove, I will send them back east to some friends who will appreciate them. Will free up spending money for more fishing and golf gear.

I assume you mean prop 43.. Hypothetical, I guess you would register them with the authorities and use as per usual. I've no idea how they are planning to enforce this - who knows what kind of hidden BS is written in there subject to interpretations by the supermajority socialists. Maybe you'll have to show your "papers" every time you go somewhere, like in communist countries.

We need to buckle down and vote as a block this November. I'm on twitter every day making my position known and encouraging others. I have a bad feeling about the current mood in Oregon.

Your talking about guns as a hobby.
What about guns as a tool?

Doesn't it bother you that something our founding fathers thought was so important. Is shown such contempt?

Owning guns in this day and age may not make a difference. Depending on what challenges we face.
But you can be sure that without them they will play no part at all. o_O

Luckily I do not live in a state that is proposing anything at the moment…. But time will tell and things can change.

But a few of us where talking at lunch about what we would do if it were to happen and we came up with a list of our 4 top Hypothetical options.

1. Comply with whatever is proposed and be a good subject of the state.

2. become a felon and hide or bury your toys and take your chances of arrest and losing all you have to the courts.

3. Flood the black market to the max and let the law maker's deal with the outcome of their actions.

4. CIVIL WAR.

Yes there are other options out there but these are the Top 4 we could think of at the time and number 3 and 4 where talked about the most, then lunch was over and we went back to work.

All great points. Liberals don't know history at all, and don't care. Liberals only like revisionist history, which recasts the roles of historical figures in a negative light, while bringing others to the fore, and in the process making people dubious of their heritage. Then, having done so, carefully sliding their own version of events into place for political gain. I bet $20 if you ask the average resident of Washington County walking down the street, they have as many negative things to say about the founding fathers as they do positive.

The militias are needed for the war after the war, lest we all become slaves again. People who think that's impossible simply don't know their history. American might is not guaranteed in perpetuity. We've taken our place in the world for granted, but we may all live to see a different age, and I for one, am going to want my guns.

Marksmanship can be practiced through any firearm. Fundamentals do not change, regardless of aesthetics, or if the gun is manually cycled or an autoloader. Everything else can be practiced dry, or utilizing equovalent airsoft or paintball guns, which also lend themselves to force on force tactics far more safely and cheaper than color marking ammo in real guns.

One of my students has Call Of Duty Panama and Call of Duty Somalia ....
He asked , if I ever played those before....
And I said : "Yes twice...Once in 1989 and once again in 1993...."
Luckily he caught on to what I was saying and we had a great conversation 'bout how real life and combat is not like a video game....
Andy

You are friggin awesome Bro!
Great response

Is this the boat story without the boat? :D

Everything that's contraband will be relocated to a free state, followed by a relocation of my tax dollars as soon as possible. I plan on making the move on a January 1st since Oregon absolutely rapes you tax wise the year you move away as my middle finger to all things Brown.

Ironically, they can't touch my actual machine gun, just it's 20 round mags will have to go elsewhere. So where the worst an intruder would have faced was an AR-15 I just might have to twist the giggle switch clockwise.

In your case, I *might* register a couple of mags, just for the giggle switch equipped HD gun.

I thought Call of Duty was a trip to the latrine!!

BTW... just for the "record", I intend to fully comply with all laws, directives, and lawful orders of my legally erected representative government... my wife. :p

I have way more respect for Andy and the other Mods in here than I ever will for the gun grabbers and wannabe gun grabbers on the outside that may be looking in.

With that being said if they wish to make me an outlaw then an outlaw I will become-and everything that goes with it. If you're gonna throw me in jail for a banned SA then what do I care if that same SA now has a homemade sausage on the end of it?

"After the first, the rest are free" I'm sure many folks have heard this saying before. If the anti's aren't careful they may find out just how much free stuff I can bag...

Gun ban?

Listen, I took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.

I have no obligation to follow an unconstitutional law. In fact, it is my obligation to resist it.

I thought the mags were an outright ban and had to be turned in, modified to 10 rounds or less, or if found later confiscated and heavily fined. I figured I'd find a way to clip two ten rounders together for convenience. Hope you are right on that.

Looks like '43 will likely not happen as long as we stay vigilant and pull together, so the bans will most likely be done by legislative EMERGENCY!!! next February. My guess is that it will be much worse than 43 since it looks like some Republicans are now open to the Bloomberg's ATM*.
