I think many new and old gun owners voted for measure 114 or didn't vote. It's because they already have their guns. Many are silent and don't want to get chewed out by pro-gunners. Example, one friend, a new gunowner told me that he voted for it because it will make the streets safer. And it's too easy to buy a gun.

Another example, an old timer gunowner I know voted for it because he doesn't own any guns that holds more than 10 rounds mostly revolvers, 1911s, and hunting rifles. And that he has all the guns he needed and mentioned that there is too many guns on the streets and crime is out of control. Even in this forum, there is some are silent about their anti gun position but they continue to own guns. It's just like being a silent Trump voter, you don't want to get criticized for voting for him.

Both friends were reluctant to tell me how they voted. But they give their opinions without me criticizing them.

Gunowners are not united and many of them agreeing with the anti gunners that wants stricter gun laws. I think that's why we are losing this battle nationwide.
Well said. Thing is they will never stop. Get one. They will want 2 and never stop until they get them all.

I think that's part of it along with the young ones turning of age to vote are taught / brainwashed from school and media that guns and the 2A are bad and evil,
also many parents are not teaching and exposing their kids to firearms or teaching right from wrong but instead teaching how the 2A is a horrible thing .
Another one is it does not matter how they feel about firearms but more important that they teach / raise their kids / students that voting for a Republican
must be avoided at all cost regardless of the outcome. In my opinion the system / schools / social media and a large portion of families have took the hook line and sinker. Just look at today's youth and the majority of 30 and younger crowd . I in my opinion feel as the older generations die off this will be a much different Country.
Like many of you on this site I enlisted and served our Country like so many others and so many paid the price for our freedom just to have our hard fought
freedoms thrown away by the brainwashing being taught by the system we pay taxes for. I bet the generations before us like grandparents / parents would be shaking their fists at this nonsense being jammed up our a$$
Sorry about my rant
end rant GIF
Not a rant sir. A lot of truth.

It wasn't Oregonians that voted 114 in. It was Multnomah and Washington county . Two counties that are 90% implants. 35 years ago Portland was filled with actual Oregonians, green grass, and trees. Now it's full of California Karen's with green hair . If you don't know how your "friends" voted on this. You're probably exactly the type I'm talking about and I bet it's you that voted yes.

I disagree with this and agree to a point. While there is plenty of outside influence, the world has changed. Just like Target and JC Pennys look exactly the same no matter what city you are in, big cities now think the same. It's a cookie cutter existence.

In the city no one wants to break the mold. Guns are bad because the PTA, church or someone said they are. I don't know myself, but someone Karen knows said something.

Conformity is the law or rule of cities. Yet, Hillsboro and Beaverton were a surprise to me on 114, based on the people I know. None from California.

You must be talking about a different mikej. I find him to be a kind and caring person.
I like to think so? But I DO get more irritable every year it seems. Must be an AGE thing?

Unfortunately more guns laws don't work. Just look at Chicago.

On top of it's not about gun control, it's about people control.
The opposition, the anti gun faction will stop at nothing to get them ALL!!
You can't control people when they have guns.
Read a history book.

When Hillary was running against Trump I was running a political commentary in my ads and it definitely hurt my sales.
So I will be a little sensitive with how I say this.
YOU CAN'T VOTE DEMOCRAT AND KEEP YOUR GUNS.
That being said that doesn't mean that there isn't a lot of awesome Democrats and that doesn't mean
I don't support a lot of the programs that help a lot of people.
I am a compassionate loving creature made in God's image and believe in helping people as anyone who knows me knows
I am Guardian of my Developmentally Disabled adult son for one example.

I do vote with the 2A which is the one that holds them all up and keeps our country free.

There is an agenda behind all this.
And... when they slowly but surely get all our guns and continue to use public education for indoctrination of our young people it will happen.
And... then they will be after our ammunition.
It's not conspiracy theory.
It's true!
And it's happening right in front of us.
Oregon and Washington are going rogue especially in light of recent Supreme Court decisions.
And there is a lot of out of state big money behind this movement.

Sad but true. I wish they could have waited a few years to destroy our rights and economy. At least until I was no longer here to see it. It's truly sad for future generations that will never realize what a great experiment America was. All they'll know is this "One World" bubblegum pushed by the socialists 50 years down the road.

How can you call someone who would destroy that which is near and dear to you a friend?
Near and dear? You over dramatize a bit. I don't socialize with people who can't see past a single issue.

Sounds like you have shallow, surface relationships rather than true friendships based on common values.
Sounds like you enjoy making general assumptions about people and have nothing substantive to contribute. My friendships are solid enough and I'm secure enough in my beliefs to know that no two people are going to agree on everything. If anything, it sounds like your friendships are the fragile ones if a single issue can blow it all up.

This is going to blow your mind: there is a LOT more to life than guns. Yes, they are cool, provide a function and are a hobby I enjoy, but my self identity isn't reliant on them.

How someone else votes simply is none of my business. End of story.

looks like the election fraud deniers were left alone.
As are the gun owners who do support anti gun. There are many of them here and they are never prevented from saying their piece here. Many here do not like it but I have yet to see their posts taken down unless they get overly emotional. Many members here who at least claim to own guns and support such openly say they want more gun laws. Many say they support not bothering to vote. They are free to express that opinion here. I think its good they are allowed. Lets more gun owners see just what we are up against as people who say they want 2A freedom support having less of it. :s0092:

I don't own any guns, all of guns were lost in a tragic boating accident.

I disagree with how someone votes is none of your business. I know it will be my business when they come for my 2A.

what if your family member votes for gun control, are people going to shun them and divorce their spouses? Never speak to their son or daughter or cousin or.... ?

Well, I'll put it this way. Those supposed loved ones are, basically, telling you they don't trust you. They don't believe in you. They do not respect you or your beliefs. They are like liars and thieves. Once someone has lied to you, or stolen from you, they can never be trusted again. They would kick you while you are down.

That's pretty much where we're at now.
