Thank you, you said it better than I could. One has to understand European history a bit to really understand this issue. Study the Spanish Civil War, and the actors involved. The European Left and Right were both harsh statists capable of terrible things. The U.S. has traditionally had a more libertarian twist with both our liberals and conservatives, in general.

That particular list was not something put together by a serious academic while researching history, but rather by a left-wing hack trying to slander his ideological opponents.

I heard a very loud explosion downtown portland a bit after 9-11, called it in. They were busy.. fielding about 100 other calls saying the same thing. Go figure.

well, the Nazi's didn't see anything wrong with what they did either, had a justification for every action, and would have probably called my grandpa and his pals fascist for invading their county and damaging their property.

Seattle will be fine, it is a giant metropolis with a giant tax base, beautiful location and expensive real estate. Portland will do fine as well as long as we don't keep sending giant welfare checks to rural communities from the state which gets the bulk of its tax dollars from the Portland Metro area. Its funny how short memories are and funnier still when you consider glass houses. Did everyone forget the Malheur Bird Refuge Yahoos and how the right was rabid about telling law enforcement to leave unless it was a like minded sheriff which they didn't find locally so they went to another county to find one they agreed with? Those were all right wing protesters breaking the rule of law and trying to get something for free but it was eerily silent from the right, no calls for force, no calls to send them away, no calls for anything. I don't agree with a lot of the left and I agree with even less of the right. If you cry foul for one team you have to do it for both otherwise its just partisan politics as usual. The next time you enjoy a road or state highway or a new infastructure project remember where the bulk of that funding comes from, its not from rural Oregon or Washington, its from the metro areas where the big businesses reside and are developed.

Marxists have been subverting this nation and the culture that has made it great for a long time while masquerading as "the left" - the claim about America, the right, and fascism is enough BS to fertilize a farm, it's not even fresh, it's been used before by morally bankrupt politicians. Anyone who would advocate that taking pride in your own nation is representative of facism is likely a commie POS, even those who claim to support the second Amendment.

It's tough to take some comments politely. Looking at the news and seeing any rampant violence while people are wearing MAGA hats? What "the right" shows, more than anything is an unparalleled degree of patience seemingly not possessed by any other humans on the planet as they represent the largest armed body of people in the world, and yet, vocal enemies of their freedom and way of life continue to live while daily advocating and acting against them.
