Ya'll should look up the home addresses of your particular state representatives and start demonstrating outside their homes... I know where mine lives.

Great advice. The problem we have in Oregon is that our governor decries emergency status and skips the voting public.
This is of course in fashion considering that she herself was not voted into office either.
Californians are parasites .....like the shooter...they come here..look around and then attempt to change things.
Then they will start complaining about all the Oregonians coming into their State and screwing it up.AWB is my line in the sand. If we get one I'm taking my tax dollars to Montana or Wyoming.
People are less likely to rock the boat when they are moving somewhere with values that align to their own in the majority of their views. There are a few states that reflect the culture we are losing. Then they will start complaining about all he Oregonians coming into their State and screwing it up.
Well said. Thank you for saying, "bulk of California". Many of us did move here for political reasons.People are less likely to rock the boat when they are moving somewhere with values that align to their own in the majority of their views. There are a few states that reflect the culture we are losing.
The problem is the bulk of California folks come here because our housing was a fraction of the price and our state was in less economic trouble because we are very self reliant in many industries. That's it, nothing political, or cultural brings them here. So when they get here, they don't fit in, and in efforts to try and fit in they bring their baggage and throw it all over our state. Then they meet more displaced folks like themselves that are here for all the wrong reasons, and they start remembering all the things they miss. Next thing you know our culture is driven aside.
I know that you own guns
This is will written and level headed communication. It would serve as an excellent template for the community, with just a change to the intro.I don't post here very often but do try to stay involved. Before I send this off to Sara Gesler (my senator) and Dan Rayfield (my representative) please read it over and if something is out of place please send me a PM. I will mail it in 24 hours.
Senator Gesler and Representative Rayfield,
Senator Gesler and I have written back and forth in the past over firearm issues and have spoken face to face concerning Alzheimer's and today I write to you concerning the awful tragedy in Roseburg the other day and what I fear is ahead for the citizens of the state of Oregon. With this tragedy there is little doubt in my mind that when the 2016 legislative session begins there will be a slew of new gun bills that will hit the floor and in the end only affect the already law abiding. Each one stripping a little more liberty from the law abiding citizens of the state of Oregon and will do nothing to stop these types of evil people from doing evil things. There is not a current law on the books or a law that could be passed that would have stopped this individual or any other individual from committing these types of crimes. The recent law concerning firearm transfers in Oregon which was passed as an emergency bill so that citizens would not have a chance to vote on it, is a prime example of a law that will do nothing to stop the criminals but only infringes on the rights of the law abiding.
If someone has the intent to carry out the horrendous crime of taking another human beings life then why would they be concerned with any laws restricting how they get their weapons, how many weapons they can have, what size magazine they posses or how many bullets they can have? They have already decided that the laws do not apply to them. Why not make people who commit crimes with a firearm serve their entire sentence instead of being paroled early? Why not pass a law making the parole board responsible for allowing violent offenders back out on our streets? Why not look at the question of why these shooting more often than not take place in "gun free zones"? Could it be that the criminals see "gun free zones" as places to commit their horrific crimes with little to no chance of being confronted?
If guns were completely banned in the United States is there really a belief that the criminals would not have them? We haven't stopped the flow of illegal immigrants or illegal drugs from coming in to this country so why would firearms be any difference? The cities in this country with the most restrictive gun laws are also the most dangerous. Just look at Chicago, NY, Detroit or Washington DC, the only people in these cities that obey the gun laws are already law abiding citizens while the criminals do what ever they please. Chicago had over 400 homicides (most were firearm related) deaths in 2014 despite having some of the most restrictive gun laws on their law abiding citizens.
I am a logical level headed individual and I believe the assault on law abiding citizens and the destruction of our Constitutional rights have gone far enough. I intend to do everything legally in my power to see that politicians who have no respect for the rights of ALL the citizens of Oregon be thrown out of office at their next election and will commit my money to see that this takes place.
I meant the intro to the letter, since I doubt we have all spoken to the two recipients about gun control or Alzheimer'sThe intro is for NWFA.
Wow! That's quite a statement. Very tolerant of you.Californians are parasites .....like the shooter...they come here..look around and then attempt to change things.
Welcome to new south commiefornia folks...bohica.
Never in my life in Oregon have I seen more Cali plates than thus time alone.
You have to admit that the majority of californians are anti-gun liberal millennials that don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground.Wow! That's quite a statement. Very tolerant of you.
I, former Californian, have never attempted to change anything in this state...its changed me. I like the way of life here so I quickly adapted.
Thanks for alienating me and my like with such a statement. So you're comparing us to the shooter? SMH!
I agree with this sentiment. I don't care where you came from as long as you're not vehemently trying to disrupt things because you miss home. You are not a Californian anymore when you came to Oregon looked around enthusiastically. .and then jumped into the pool...you are a Californian in my book, if you came here and instilled Californian values and behavior which alot of liberal Californians who moved have done.
