"An investigation is underway and it appears the gun might have malfunctioned, according to the sheriff’s office."

I wonder how it malfunctioned in such a way as to point itself at her abdomen against her will? I'm guessing the "malfunction" was that it went bang when she pulled the trigger. I could be wrong, but it's only February, so what are the odds? ;)

It appears the gun may have malfunctioned? I suspect its far more likely that the gun owner malfunctioned

I'm betting operator error more likely than firearm malfunction. Bad way to learn a lesson.

Always always blame the gun, never the handler.

Of course it's the gun. How else do you explain all the "gun crimes" that moms against whatever the hell they feel like being against, are occurring?

Mebbe it was Gary on loan from PlayboyPenguin - that is an evil gun if there ever was one.

it is vitally important that the anti-gun media keep portraying the image that guns just go off by themselves, and are inherently dangerous.

In some ways when a Sherriff says "malfunctioned" it seems better in terms of protecting gun owners, because saying someone was stupid and shot them self sounds like a better reason to ban a gun than faulty equipment.
