Because some members of society will put their shoulder to the wheel and work, others will be content to sit on their arse and partake in the generosity of the State. That's why a big whip is needed to get the latter going, and how socialism often degenerates into economies of dictatorship.

The term, "equity" that is being tossed around here these days is code for socialism.

More code, replacing "vagrancy" with "homeless" or "unhoused." The corrosion is deep; formerly these behaviors were not widely tolerated under capitalist or authoritarian socialist societies.

Eerily similar to atf shutting down ffls for the slightest errors, visiting homes for purchasing 2 handguns in week, buying a certain trigger etc. and also putting a piece of plastic on a pistol that can result in 10 years in jail. It keeps spiraling upward to more fed control each year, unless congress and the courts can keep it in check.

Probably in the book, "Atlas Shrugged" most likely. I watched some of the movies but have not read the book.

All the oligarchs get tired of how they are being treated with disrespect so they dip out to private retreats leaving the nation without CEO's, company presidents and "job creators" and society falls apart and begs them to come back to save everyone. Turns out we accidently found out that is 180* from reality and we can function fine without them and the folks we really need are the line cooks, truck drivers, maids, trash collectors and all the minimum wage people. those are the people we need to keep society going
