at 14 are you talking ball ammo? If so why? you can have it dropped at your door for less than that as long as you spend $200. Hell anymore I don't blink when I spend $200 buying food.
Because it was convenient and I needed some for today. If I want it, I buy it. If I paid more than somewhere else, so what? I don't always buy candybars online either. I pay quite a bit more for one at a convenience store, because it is...convenient.

If you are burning it as you use it I would suggest you lay some in when you can. There will be something set off another panic. They come over and over. The difference is the store always has candy bars. When yet another ammo panic does hit there will be none in the stores again and of course a LOT of people will be angry. :s0092:

On line special bulk pricing and free delivery over $200 makes more sense than hit or miss local purchases.

The UPS and FedEx guys probably hate me for the 30# - 50# boxes they have to schlep to the front door. Oh well.....

Back that supply up with fully stocked or over stocked reloading components.

Refuse to get caught short again.

Don't know if they're panic buying, but some stores are price-gouging again.

All due respect.

I have a serious issue with the "Price Gouging" characterization. The roots of the notion are in Socialism.

In a free market, sellers are free to price goods as they deem appropriate.

Likewise, as a buyer, you are free to take your dollars elsewhere.

Vote with your Dollars. It's how Freedom functions.

My 2 cents.

LOL, I do at times feel bad for those poor drivers. Bit ago I bought a case of .45 that came in a 50 ammo can. I had forgotten what 1 K of that stuff weighs :s0140:
I went to the office to pick it up on foot. Thought, hmm, I will just take the can out of the box. Did that and hefted the can as far as the front door. Decided I would go get the car and come back. I'm sure the driver had a scowl on his face when he brought it into the office. :s0140:

Absolutely not, my friend!

I am just educated in what the Founding Principles of this Country are all about (B.A. Finance).

I fully understand how a lot of folks want to buy into the notion that they are somehow "Victims" of "Capitalists".

That notion was put forth in Karl Marx' book "Das Kapital" in the late 1800's, and is at total variance with what this country stands for (see Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith).

Despite being proven unworkable, the notion still remains strongly prevalent today promoted by the Left, who do their best to convince citizens that they are Victims and need protection by a (Not So) Benevolent Government.

Appreciate your post.

I have noticed a LOT of shooters seem to only see inflation when it comes to buying ammo. As price of things like food gets to really high prices people seem to think ammo should still sell for the same price it did before we got inflation we had not seen in decades. Price of food goes way up no one cares. Price of ammo goes up some scream scalping. :s0092:

Ammo and beer should NEVER go up in price. We need those to live. Food? meh :D

Inflation can be compared to "value added tax" where every component that goes into a product, from the raw material, to subassemblies, to the finished product, to packaging, then the distribution, warehousing, to the consumer (where they may pay a sales tax)
Inflation (VAT) also hits the manufacturer in increased labor and utilities, as well as components sold to them by others who are also dealing with inflation. And then there's the shareholders. Of the ammunition manufacturer. And the distributor. And maybe the retail store. They expect to see continued gains or they'll sell off shares, tanking the company.
This is just one facet, ammunition.

I'm good with inflation...as much as I dislike it.

But thats different than price gouging........fyi....I got no degree in finance.
I just know when I'm getting screwed.

This is nothing New to me ...If you been paying attention the last 20 yrs+++
Most noticable since 08 ish.
Plan on 2 yr cycles of gun and ammo scares.
Prepare.
Sometimes you miss the window and its over for a couple winters till the majic restock of shelves.

Very well said, the basis of our system are in those words.
The wife and I disagree with your signature line though 😅😂 20 rounds and one gun is not near enough!!!!:s0115:

Price gouging. The same 20 round box of ammo that was $20 yesterday is $40 today (or worse yet,the same day) because a governor in a neighboring state is about to sign a bill.

Price gouging. Raising prices 100% then offering a 25% off sale because of same excuses above, then trying to make it sound like they are "helping customers"...

No need to defend unnamed stores' questionable business practices by proxy. They can justify it as a "market adjustment" all they want, it's still stinks of profiteering. But you are right, it is a free market. So, don't worry, I voted with my dollars and purchased elsewhere.

I have done my best to support local businesses, but not if they are comfortable with shady practices right in front of their customers.

LOL james ryan. KIll and kill again and kill or be killed(?) loved those movies back in the day
That opening scene cracks me up. Large caliber handgun then closeup of a 22 bullet that doesn't seem to fly in a straight line, then guy jumping in front of another musket type bullet with a metal plate going "HiYAW!" Oh man! :p :p :p

..."with the marvelous Candy Kane" :p :p
