Yes, you have to show an OR photo id. Driver's license is most common as it would show your state of residency.

My SIL and I were in Kesselring's a few years ago, and SIL made a purchase. Kesselring's wanted 2 forms of OR picture ID so SIL gave him his OR DL and his OR CHL. Kesselring's did not charge him the sales tax.

Agreement says proper ID...what proper ID is can be up to the retailer.

Oregon and Montana residents can show their ID and not pay sales tax in Washington.

I hope they plug the "loophole" soon!! Too many people living in WA that keep their old drivers license when they move here and use it to skate out of paying their fair share of tax since WA has no income tax.

The only thing that approaches insurance is extended warranty, and it's clearly a different thing.

A "warranty" can only be issued by the manufacturer of the product, if you buy one from another source you're getting a "service contract" and it's subject to normal contract laws. That is per WA law also.
