Last Winter's history contradicts that assertion: Almost all Democrats in Congress followed President Obama's lead and voted to NOT keep the Bush tax cuts for the Very Rich 2% of Americans, but voted to RENEW the tax cuts for the lower income 98% of Americans. Virtually NO Republicans would allow this, and vowed that either the Very Rich got their tax cuts or NOBODY got tax cuts, and SWORE that they would shut down the government instead. President Obama was very aware that the entire economy was still on the precipice of falling into another Great Depression, and he caved in to the Republicans. To repeat: the Democrats tried to give tax breaks to 98% of taxpayers; the Republicans BLOCKED that unless the Very Rich 2% got their tax breaks. The Democrats were prevented from their long-term effort at ending the "uber-rich" tax cuts..........................elsullo

I think you will find it hard to get many participants in your 'off with their heads' system of gov. Maybe a lottery - death panel sort of selection process, where they show up at your door, handcuff you, and drag you off to DC.

For some stupid reason I value reason, truth, and objectivity, and when I see these things that are precious to me trampled it gets my dander up. If these values are unimportant what sort of system can we ever have? And if we say, well this BS is just just a means to bring about more holy ends, then we have fallen into a trap, because the means, being real actions, become the ends, as they were only a calculated fantasy anyway. Actions easily overcome intentions, else we would be up to our yin yangs in saints.

Yes, but this is Oregon. I was born here, grew up here, but only in the last ten years have I seen so many commies coming out of the closet. When I was a kid in the 50's and 60's no one admitted to believing in communism, there were no homosexuals, in the late 60's "free love" became the mantra of the left but now they are talking about what they really want, chaos. They will get chaos too!
Donald Trump is another product of our times, glitter and cameras. He is not presidential material anymore than Obama is. There really is no hope for America. I'm genuinely sorry. It's a waste of time talking about this, there are too many Oregonians who don't know right from wrong, who don't understand the marketplace, who are tied one way or another to big government, or who pay no taxes at all! The rich are not the problem, the left is. Of course the portion of the left that rants the most are filthy stinking rich!
