This is what they've wanted all along, they've just been too aware of their own shelf-life to say it out loud to the masses.
Funny that they feel so emboldened to talk openly about banning semiautos but not yet revolvers... they'll get there before long, it's just ironic that they chose to draw that line when all others have been erased or obscured... illegal aliens are equal to legal immigrants. Illegal guns are the same as legally-owned guns. The prison population is too high so let's make more criminals. Criminals are victims while law abiding citizens are oppressors. Socialism is good, except for Venezuala. Scandanavian style socialism is good, 'cept for all of the immigration law... then good... 'cept it's all white people. Chris Cuomo is not toxically masculine when he threatens to throw somebody down the stairs. Porn is art, porn degrades women.

Trying to untwist their "logic" will make you crazy.

Prohibition, War on drugs and the War on Poverty...All failures.

Good luck trying to round up 400,000,000 weapons.

Does anybody think this would pass the senate and then a Presidential veto? Serious answers please.

Not yet and the people who throw stuff like this up do not expect it to. It's they will throw something stupid and beyond possible. Then a lot of gun owners will go all in on something of a "compromise". This will do nothing so before long they start in again. When law makers watch the gun owners in the state of WA vote to pass a law like I-1639 with no push back, why are gun owners then shocked when new laws are sent out as trial balloons? The anti gun will push until they get push back, as in some get voted out of office. So far gun owners are still all in on re electing the people who are doing this. Only way it will slow down is when some of the law makers start to lose their job. Unless gun owners are ever willing to stop electing these people nothing will get better for us, only worse.

They will not have to round them up, they know they can't. They can pass laws though. Every new law how many gun owners are willing to break them and risk no guns after caught? They pass a law saying all mags over 10 rounds are now illegal. How many gun owners are going to keep using the illegal mags? when they made a new rule that certain shotguns were now an AOW and if you did not register it, then it was illegal. How many gun owners still have one that is not registered? All these laws are only aimed at the good people. Since the good people will mostly follow. The people making the laws could care less about criminals.:mad:

I don't believe so. Let's assume that the Dems get full control: Congress + Warren as President. Let's assume that a semi-auto ban + confiscation/(buyback.with.your.own.tax.dollars) makes it through into law. Given the sheer number of judges out there, I'd assume at least one to issue an injunction in addition to the myriad of lawsuits that get filed. The law would then be overturned at the SC level and hey, we're back to square one. In fact, in this scenario, Trump would probably get blamed because of "stacking the court" - hilarious because do we really want judges legislating from the bench?

IMO, what this really is about is getting Dems elected. If you're a single issue, uninformed voter just pointing wherever the political wind is blowing on any given day, then you might be encourage to "think of the children" and "don't be a xyz-ist" and vote Dem! If the gun issues gets the blue full control, *then all of their other policies can pass with ease!*.

I do really wish that people could realize that this is all about power, that the game is less D vs R and more Political Elite vs The Little Guy, and that forcing those elite to come down on two sides of an issue, and then cause them to gridlock by having the Congress split, is the absolute best thing we can really hope for. Government only ever takes more and more - stalemate is the best we can do until things get so bad, another revolution comes.

Ed Rendell was just on Fox. He invoked recent events in Dayton and Philly to call for a ban on "assault weapons" and "high capacity" magazines. He said, and I quote word for word, "Civilians have no right to have assault weapons and high capacity magazines."

Let him be the one to come and take them then!!!

There is an hour-long broadcast providing warnings of history of revolutions, gun confiscations, and genocide. Topics include the Weathermen, French Revolution, Cambodia Revolution, Russian Revolution, and the parallels today. TruNews

Predictions of the broadcast: Trump and Republican Senate will agree to bans of semiautomatics, and that Americans are going to be purged following gun confiscations.

That's the game: "demand everything, 'compromise' at half of what they haven't taken already, rinse and repeat."

There are lots of Democrat voters that own semi-auto firearms - whether grandpa's old 1911 or M1 Garand, the old 10/22's, the Marlin 60's, and so many others. Aside from being unconstitutional as well as impossible to enforce, it would be political suicide to implement a ban of this type. In 1994, the Clinton AWB cost Democrats heavily at the ballot box. There was huge blowback from voters and tons of Democrats lost their seats in congress. It went too far then, it will be too far now.

Dems know there is no chance for this to pass with Republicans in control of the senate and Trump in the WH, so they're safe to push a ridiculous bill they know for a fact will never become law. It's pandering to their anti-gun friends, plain and simple. Just like the Republicans that pushed over and over to end Obamacare, so long as they knew Obama would veto anything they put through. Once they had control, they wimped out and stopped pushing their legislation.

This is saber rattling, nothing more. I won't get worked up about it. They don't have the votes. They don't have the influence. And, they don't want to lose the election. They may be fools, many of them, but they're not stupid.

"I fully support the second amendment but there's no place for firearms on our streets" said every tyrant politician.

Then, there were these outstanding leaders who obviously loved and cared about their people. And of course, if you disagreed with them. Well, you probably deserved what came next.
