Everyone has the right to self defense even convicted felons, after they have paid their debt to society and required probation their rights should be restored. If they too dangerous or unstable to possess a firearm then why are they breathing my air, when they should locked up or stuck with a needle?

As should any US Citizen, IMO. If he's walking the street a free man, be able to do so without restriction.

Scary story. He probably isn't the only perp with a nerfglock. Imagine a police officer looking at a 13 year old gang banger and thinking that's just a toy pistol that the kid is pointing.
