mosin nagant
The 3-line rifle M1891, colloquially (but mistakenly; see Nagant's legal dispute) known in the West as Mosin–Nagant and in Russia and former Soviet Union as Mosin's rifle (Russian: винтовка Мосина, ISO 9: vintovka Mosina), is a five-shot, bolt-action, internal magazine–fed military rifle. It is primarily found chambered for its original 7.62×54mmR cartridge.
Developed from 1882 to 1891, it was used by the armed forces of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and various other nations. It is one of the most mass-produced military bolt-action rifles in history with over 37 million units having been made since 1891. In spite of its age, it has been used in various conflicts around the world up to the present day.
This Mosin has had a little work done to it.
It’s dated 1942. Bore and chamber is in great shape.
7.62x55R
Few years back I shortened the barrel to 20”, modified an AK74 brake, silver soldered it in place. Very little felt recoil with that brake on!
It sports a Rock Solid scope mount, I drilled...

I recently finished watching the excellent HBO Miniseries “Chernobyl”. In Episode 4, there is a team of occupation/containment troops armed with 91/30’s whose job it was to hunt and kill radioactive pets (and other wild animals). Does anybody know more about this? Anyway, it’s my understanding...

Hi, as stated I need some MN info. I have a 1943 dated Izhevsk rifle. The serial number starts with CH and has 4 numbers after that. The bolt, buttplate and the trigger group all have the 4 digits of the serial number but not the CH prefix. I am trying to figure out what I have here. On another...

Up for sale is a Finnish M28 rifle. This one looks to have an earlier-ish SIG barrel installed per my research on the rifle. Still has cosmoline on the bolt and probably other internal components, but rifling is still nice and sharp compared to the Russian 91/30s I've seen, for...

Looking for input from those with some experience (as I don't have much).
Do you find the stock on the M39 (with the slight pistol grip) more comfortable to shoot than other Mosin Nagant rifles (with straight stocks)?
I ask as my experience with 1903 and 03A3 Springfield has me liking the C...
I’m selling a Model of 1895 Mauser, made by Loewe in Berlin, under contract for the Chilean Military. It has no import marks. It is chambered in 7mm Mauser. The bolt, serialed on the handle, is not matching. Smooth action, cock on close. Strong rifling, no pitting, surprisingly so to me given...
