When they come for your guns, give them the bullets first.

I will slay as many of the invading fools as I possibly can, using every method and tool at my disposal, before I no longer draw breath.

My intent was to stimulate thought more from the philisophical direction than the tactical, although I wholeheartedly agree with most of the above sentiments.

I don't see it happening in a tactical sense. In the last few years gun enthusiast have seen SCOTUS rule in our favor, local laws being changed in our favor and actually one of the record sales of firearms and accessories (thanks to the current administration).

So who is going to come and get them?

Most military and LEO people I know are gun enthusiasts and also would not support a unconstitutional act. So anything big is not likely to happen. If it did, who would support it? I would think, we would have jurisdictional issue, Head of various agencies would refuse, Those that did, there would be those in the agencies would refuse. Same with the military. There would be legal challenges and a massive legal night mare. So who would come and get them. I have friends in the military and LEO, would I shoot them. NO. Would I hand over all of my firearms. A little creativity can do wonders in this department.

I would think the gun grabbers would use a different tactic. Health and safety issue, environmental and taxation to make it to costly to shoot or to own. Rather than taking a extreme position, the solution is political action and adding to our numbers. There are something like 77 million legal firearm owners. So help them get more active in support of our 2nd Amendment rights. NRA has programs to introduce more people to our hobby. That adds to our membership. The harder we work now, the less likely the worse case situation will happen. While heroic last stands may sound cool, it is something we do not want to see.

The best solution is prevention. Become politically active, promote our sport, promote laws that punishes the criminal and not the honest citizen, like the Castle doctrine. Run for office, get elected, be a better citizen. This is our country too.

"Guest Editorial?" What, now there are TWO people behind this blog? Listen, just because some eccentric uses a freeware program to write his own blog does not mean that it is not the deluded ravings of an unsound mind. There is no professional peer-review, no vetting of authors or their history, no fact-checking, no board of editors, no EVIDENCE except quotations from OTHER blogs with the same lack of evidence or any credibility. Just because somebody writes stuff in a blog does not mean that it is TRUE. I think I need to repeat this: JUST BECAUSE SOMEBODY WRITES STUFF IN A BLOG DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT IS TRUE.

There are two big reasons to write a scary blog, besides spreading one's nutcase theories: First, note that all of these blogs have banner ads and links to commercial sites and enterprises, at the very least selling a book. Get it? The blog makes MONEY. The more sensational it is the more likely to grow and get more "hits" to the ads, and make more money. Second, blogs usually promote some membership organization based upon fear. The more frightened they can make readers, the more likely they are to PAY MEMBERSHIPS to the cause, and make MONEY for the blog.

I think that you are getting my drift. There are lots of sensational blogs out there, usually written by just one person, making all kinds of anxiety-fueling claims to get you to spread their rumors and chain emails and join their "organizations". In almost every case they are making MONEY, and have no EVIDENCE for what they claim, no truth behind their assertions---and then they insist that critics have to prove them wrong or else that is evidence that it must be true! OH, PLEASE!.......................elsullo

I am a self-appointed crusader for truth, justice, and the American Way. I am retired now, and have a lot of free time to comment when posters offer material for comment, and if I have a strong opinion on what others claim. That's the purpose of a messageboard, right? My nickname is at the top of my posts; if you dont care then don't read it. My work is done here......................elsullo

You liken blogs to non-sensical, single-point, non-evidential opinions that we shouldn't take too seriously. LOOK AT OUR "MAINSTREAM" MEDIA!! Those guys are so full of it, they just pull random stuff out of their hats, fabricate truths (GM vehicles EXPLODE when hit near the gas tank) and idiots believe it because someone famous said it. If some no-name clown from BFE said half the garbage that came from our mainstream media, he would be another one of your victims. You'd Shift the blame, Ignore the facts and Name call (sorry, I like that and had to work it in) Thank god you're retired and hopefully have pulled your collective head out of the rest of the world so you're not REALLY influencing anyone.

JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE WRITES SOMETHING FOR A TALKING HEAD TO ESPOUSE ON NATIONAL TV DOESN'T MEAN IT'S TRUE!

I completely agree with you, iusmc! Fox News is highly untrustworthy! Much of what Newt Gingrich and Michelle Bachman have said has been proven to be untrue fabrications! At least there are fact-checkers active out there.........................elsullo

Got any peer-reviewed, non-scary blog, fact-checked evidence there, chief? Did you forget about Dick Cheney and Karl Rove?

    Enquiring minds want to know.

I served and I know we have nothing to worry about. The United States military makes up less than 1% of the people in the US. There is not enough LE to go house to house. I don't think LE has the intelligence to pull this off so most people are better qualified at using firearms anyways.

So don't worry the military would not do it and LE is not qualified to do it and if they tried they would be idiots.

They would have to go to court as well to execute this and it would be shot down and we outgun LE by 10 to one. I bet most large city LE only have their crappy butt Glocks because they don't know how to use other guns.

There will be quite a few less if they tried to take our weapons as well. Some of us might uncork pandora's box on irregular warefare on them to protect our way of life.

Some don't understand that it will not be necessary to collect 98% of the guns. They will be gladly turned in for exchange toward water and food by most of the populace.

it doesnt need to happen with mass confiscations, and wont. instead, it'll be absolutely no different than the current trend- continual slow erosion of rights until we're left with grandfathered single shot muzzle loaders and powder has a $600/lb tax.

there will be no glorious blazes of glory. there will be no call to arms. there will be no lines drawn in the sand- all of that should have happened in 1934. and because it didn't, we're already lost.

    pessimistic, i guess- but true.

the tree of liberty is long overdue for refreshing, gentlemen. revolution should have come in the 1930s or 40s, but socialism snuck in and offered a weak-spirited, destitute populace an alternative. socialism being what it is, we're no longer equipped to keep our optional government in line. they hold the reigns, and are NOT scared of us or our guns. the ONLY hope, at this point, for liberty, is bloody revolution. trials for the accused, and public executions for the guilty, to send a terrible message to any politician who might dream of stepping on our Constitution again.

calling your congressmen won't do the trick, boys. neither will electing republicans or term limits. snap out your bubbleguming dream- liberty is an illusion and nothing more, in this country. we're the single most heavily regulated body of private citizens on the face of the planet. is that "freedom?" is that what a "free-country" looks like? we have more people in prison than any other country on earth- including china. what is this? and now your optional, elected government of representatives are daring to even drop the pretense of Constitutional authority, claiming "that's the supreme court's job, not ours," despite their oath of office. they're laughing at you and your piddly little "rights." you're a joke to them, and so's your Constitution.

etc. you people better be as sulky and disillusioned as i am.
