"Guest Editorial?" What, now there are TWO people behind this blog? Listen, just because some eccentric uses a freeware program to write his own blog does not mean that it is not the deluded ravings of an unsound mind. There is no professional peer-review, no vetting of authors or their history, no fact-checking, no board of editors, no EVIDENCE except quotations from OTHER blogs with the same lack of evidence or any credibility. Just because somebody writes stuff in a blog does not mean that it is TRUE. I think I need to repeat this: JUST BECAUSE SOMEBODY WRITES STUFF IN A BLOG DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT IS TRUE.

There are two big reasons to write a scary blog, besides spreading one's nutcase theories: First, note that all of these blogs have banner ads and links to commercial sites and enterprises, at the very least selling a book. Get it? The blog makes MONEY. The more sensational it is the more likely to grow and get more "hits" to the ads, and make more money. Second, blogs usually promote some membership organization based upon fear. The more frightened they can make readers, the more likely they are to PAY MEMBERSHIPS to the cause, and make MONEY for the blog.

I think that you are getting my drift. There are lots of sensational blogs out there, usually written by just one person, making all kinds of anxiety-fueling claims to get you to spread their rumors and chain emails and join their "organizations". In almost every case they are making MONEY, and have no EVIDENCE for what they claim, no truth behind their assertions---and then they insist that critics have to prove them wrong or else that is evidence that it must be true! OH, PLEASE!.......................elsullo

Hmmmm.... all the above sounds JUST LIKE how the DNC (and company) operates... I mean you have the "daily cos", "blue oregon", (P)MSNBC, CNBC all the other "alphabet networks", COUNTLESS "mean beatches" on twitter (who like to kick full wine glasses on commentator's wives in the park) that feeble-minded progressive-liberals snort and chuckle at (and think you're actually funny and original), and take as gospel.

DO NOT presume to lecture others when you (as you've said in so many words in the past) ascribe to, "far left socialist ideologies".... a flavor of ideology that is PROVEN HUNDREDS OF TIMES at the cost of HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF LIVES to be an utter, abject failure.

I'm still waiting for you supposedly, U.S. Constitution / 2A loving, condescending leftist "big-mouths" to debunk and poo-poo (in any meaningful fashion) the MSM REPORTS of how the Obama administration (and DOJ) is working on "further gun regulation" that just came out recently.

I would say after reading the blog and many of the comments.
If you can not find a solution for change from without, then try change from within.

Being every able bodied man and woman become a reserve sheriff deputy, or federal marshal, or marshal, or policeman, or constable.
Use your good ethics, help your community, recognize solid hard working Americans who also carry firearms daily, and help to put them in a good light.
After all, law enforcement nation wide are just sworn citizens, unless they also served the military, dispel the civilian myth that is propagated to say that only LEO should have arms.

Take away their twisted arguments.
No need to become a martyr that will be demonized by the ,more often than not slanted, media.

Oh and if they come to your door to take your personal possessions, refuse entry, point out their unconstitutional intentions and call a friend for support.

Actually NOT ONE of the main media outlets is unbiased. The news industry is all about ratings and market share to garner advertising revenue. They each have their own marketing slant to attract a certain demographic and slant their views and news to that market. Truth is secondary to profit. Those who want to know the truth can find it, but it takes time, self-discipline, and the ability to rationally evaluate competing claims. Most Americans, including members of this forum, are either too lazy or are ill-equipped to discern the truth, so they buy the media line that fits their own world view, regardless of its accuracy. This works well for those who seek to control our thoughts and actions, and only serves to further dilute our liberty. Democracy is hard. If we want to keep it the foundation must be an informed electorate. Today's media has little interest in information, they are in it for the money.

I have only advocated for a more human form of Capitalism, incorrectly named "Social Democracy", such as in NORWAY, SWEDEN, DENMARK, and to a lesser degree FRANCE. Coming from the left, I have had a little bit of success supporting my own local D party folks to pass pro gun resolutions and to defeat stupid stuff like Sen Burdick's anti CCL legislation. It's not easy and the 'Red Dawn' rants don't help. Conservatives have been fighting the pro 2A fight longer and better than us pro-gun progressives. But we are strategically placed to help derail anti gun legislation. Cooperation would be helpful.

I've just had my fill of brainless dopes (who vote). I'm not (recently) ready to fight and die for the RTKABA... I've been that way since I was 17 (I'm now 44 and still physically fit) when I entered the U.S. Army... that's where I learned those "nasty skills" Auntie Janet is so worried about.
