Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but economic survival is an important factor in overall survival.

I have NEVER seen stocks, commodities, and precious metals all fall dramatically on the same day, on very little news to explain it. Any thoughts on this? Feel free to include consiracy theories. I follow the markets pretty closely and I can't get my head around this. What am I missing? Manipulated? By who, and how?

Somewhere in the not so far off future....

"Good citizen.... how dare you pay attention to anything other than the excellent entertainment that was provided you? Why must you not act like the others..... we have a special camp you must go to. It will help you realize what is important and what you must pay attention to, just like your neighbors..... see they focus on what's important.... come now! Leave your things, they might be here if you ever get to come back. Resisting is futile. Come now or you will become the example others have warned you about."

You're right, I'll just go pick up a People magazine and turn on some "reality" TV. Thank you fellow citizens for policing my thoughts and keeping me loyal to the regime. How embarassing for my wife and child if I was to be labled as "independent".

P O N Z I S C H E M E Anything that is sold or traded on Wall is rigged. With computer trading, they sell at a high mark, buy at the low mark. They make a lot of money and still have what they sold. They manipulate or rigg the market for insiders.

I blame it on pressure cookers, those dastardly devils

I tried to tell people we need to regulate pressure cookers, ball bearings and nails. Now maybe they will listen and we will require people to register hammers, cooking utensils, and anything that may contain ball bearing, like roller skates and such.

Since there is nothing in the constitution guaranteeing the right to own such items it should be a relatively easy task.

Btw my grandma has a high capacity pressure cooker, where do I go to turn it in to get my $100.00

"Btw my grandma has a high capacity pressure cooker, where do I go to turn it in to get my $100.00".

Does it have military-style features? There is no place for food prearation devices of war in our domestic kitchens!

Part of a commentary from 2+ weeks ago:

"So, clearly our central banks are now very uncomfortable. They are worried about something of significant size which has yet to be revealed to the public. I guarantee you that whatever it is will have to do with the derivatives created between 1991 and 2007.”

Clearly there is "something" out there that has near-term ramifications. People have been seeing evidence of it for several weeks, but whatever it is is not public knowledge. The major smash-down in the metals markets in the last few days is additional evidence of something "big." Whether or not it ever becomes public is anyone's guess.

My bro in law had about 1.7M in the market a couple of years ago, and had done quite well. Then he started loosing money quite often. He finally said enough is enough, took it ALL out of the market, bought a few pieces of real estate, some gold and silver, and sat on the rest. He was a real student of the market as well, but he said every decision I make or move I try to make is the wrong fing move. I give up.

Guns, ammo, gold and my farm are where my money is.

The markets and commodities were diving hours before the Boston bombings.........somebody somewhere is manipulating the price of precious metals

Seriously now, you all are correct if I remember correctly precious metals were falling on Friday and all day Monday. So was the market.

I also have a relative does day trading and he starting trying to expalin a lot of stuff to me and I said a minute, the short version of your diortation is the market does not make any sense, it falls when it should rise and rises when it should be falling, he said well yeah.

Two words - fed manipulation, if it were not for the digital $$$ being created it woul dhave crahsed several times over, over the last 5 yrs, he said yeah exactly. The billionares have have been yanking their money out for two months now, news articles for validation posted under US in Silent depression.

Mis-Direction, mis- direction you want an excuse the main stream will believe you fabricate one and the culprit is never found or some patzy takes a fall.

I know several people who pulling out of the market and the banks, most of whom I would of never sustected would do so.

Why are the banks worried, two words withdrawals and runs

lots of people pulling out their cash and putting it in hard assets, I can tell you my balance sheet after payday goes down to what I can get out quickly and is spread over several accounts

I'm seeing that too. Unfortunately the the most difficult task I have at the moment is convincing elderly relatives that the world has changed, and that "full faith" in their financial institutions (and in the entity that "insures" them) is, er, "unwise."

the dow was down 200 of its 256ish before the cooker went off.

what caused the drop??? good question, the only thing up was the dollar so maybe they needed to crash stocks and gold to keep the game in play.

Why? Just because the FDIC is underfunded by a ratio of 1:371? :)

Stocks, PMs, all manipulated by the Central Bankers and their minions aka TPTB aka our real owners.

Gold/silver price is easily manipulated up and down by them anytime they want via fake certs and/or shorting. They create the tides then they ride them to profit.

In no way, shape or form is the price of Gold and Silver based on actual supply and demand. If they were, the price would be 20x-30x current levels. But alas, there is a Ponzi scam in place at Comex and therefore to keep the paper money propped up the prices are fraudulently suppressed.

They get you coming and going. I'll always have more faith in something I can hold in my own hand over something that can be taken from me via a few keystrokes though.

The stock market is nothing more than a Casino, and just like in Vegas, the only vocal people are the winners and they are in reality a very small minority. The vast majority of winners are insiders and con artists.
