Sheriff Bob Songer of Klickitat County is not requiring the medical box to be checked, and will release the firearm after passing the background check...regardless of what the state mandates.

They haven't taken delivery of the time machine yet because it is tied up in a 30 day background check.

I'm not sure if standing can come up again in the lawsuit, but if so, it might be a good idea to add this guy or someone like him as a plaintiff.

It would be hard to argue there is no standing if the individual has been forced to wait 30 days due to the new law, which then invalidates his paperwork and starts the process over again.

Actually I'm glad that happened. I hope there's lots more example like this of LEOs having issues. Maybe then the police unions that support crap like this will start to go the other way.
And by the way, I'm also very against exemptions for LEOs. They are civilian agencies and their officers should have ALL the same problems as the rest of us civilians.

The state should know the answer. I've been self-employed in WA since before dirt, my UBI number is tied to a taxpayer classification identifier so they know the tax rate I have to pay. I'm pretty sure gun dealers have their own identifier.

Buggy whip manufacturers no doubt had their own identifier too, no one seems to be missing them at the revenue department.

I was in a LGS yesterday sending a few $$ to pick up some accessories to help out a bit, and there was an older fellow (guessing late 60's to 70's) buying a pistol...jumping through the hoops, answering the extra questions...griping about it...

So, two more victims of this, wanted to make a deal with a long standing fellow member here, and long story short, both of us got screwed by the State of Wa. He cannot sell or transfer it to me under the new law, and oregon must honor Wa. law. Cannot ship FFL to FFL across state lines, nor hand deliver to Oregon for a legal transfer! Im super pissed. Off, that rifle has long been one of my Unicorns and i cannot purchase it with out breaking ether states laws, even though both the seller and my self are fully able under the law to purchase firearms! Just how does this stack up, when TWO states willfully deny the lawful right of two citizens in good standing? Phuck me, this really pisses me off!
