heres one

and any army surplus store worth its salt is gonna have them.

Ok... some comments: good choice on an AK and M&P, its what i run, but try and stay away from the WASR. go with a G code or somethin better if u can. and for that matter u may want a .22 for small game if its all that u can find. A good folding personal tent would be wise. a couple packets of warmers (hands, body, and feet) can help in northwest weather. Good planning though.

I have 3 packets of hand warmers.(You saw them last time you were at my house-red packs)..anyway thanks for the tent idea..i was hoping to use my space blankets to create shelter but a tent would be better..
:):):):)

I got my bazooka, c-rats, fully auto ar15thousand round drum, alice/molle full ceramic plate body armor, night vision goggles, light saber, bottle of vodka (the good stuff) and I pack it all in my M1 tank. It has the red phone in it, so I can call up the president and tell him what a dumb a$$ he was for pushing the big red button. haha..

But no seriously, think light weight, all my stuff resides between my well used REI internal frame pack, and my safe. It all stays packed and gets used frequently when I go camping/backpacking. Then I just add to the essentials with a little stop by the safe for armament and important documents. I sometimes will use a large size Maratac BoB for edc type stuff when I'm out in my more Urban surroundings. Looks just like a laptop bag with a few more pockets which is great to stay unsuspected. Cuz you never know, you might be bugging Back instead of bugging out.
I think it's important to ask yourself can I hike 20 miles? can I hike 20 miles with all this stuff on my back? my answer is yes!
My Top items:
Good boots
Good knife (love my rc3 and my becker companion)
Proper clothing for the lovely NW weather
Water/filter
some Food
Firesteel
XD45
compass/map
nylon line or real 550 paracord
Visqueen
First aid kit
Flashlight/headlamp

Also, I would be pretty hard pressed to leave home without my tent and sleeping bag. Obviously I left out alot and depending on the situation I would probably bring along one of my rifles as well.

I have a survival pack that goes in tandem with a tac vest (the pack holds the load in back, the vest holds the stuff I may need along the way up front in easy reach). I also have two sets of bugout duds which we jokingly refer to as the "Batsuits". In summer, I have the lightweight clothes out and ready, with the cold weather suit in a dry bag inside the pack. Right around fall, I switch them around, packing away the summer stuff and laying out my longjohns, heavy socks and boots, Carhartt quilt lines waist overalls, gloves, ski mask/wool watch cap, etc....
VEST:
Flashlight
Quality lightweight Multi Tool
Thermite (if I need to get past a chain or lock)
Loaded Magazines
Walkie Talkie
Lighter/matches
Black Magic Marker (to scrawl big obvious pre-determined coded messages on walls, sidewalks, poles, etc.... For scenarios such as getting separated, one might scrawl for example "REX" everywhere, which means your people would know you were heading wherever you all had agreed "REX" would be.)
Most of the usual stuff in the pack... got a sweeeet Vango 2 man Bivy... woke up one morning out in the wild with that tent standing in 2 inches of water, and bone dry inside. I can run or hunker down for about 10 days with what I can carry... if I can' reach my stashes in that time it's because I'm dead.

I was just looking at the dates on this... yea, srs thread revival, half of the original posters havn't even been on the board in months/years.

I've been rebuilding my BOB lately. I've taken all the heavy stuff out and replaced it with bottles of lotion, pornography and kleenex. I am pretty sure I will be able to trade these things for guns, ammo, food and water. I havn't seen anyone stocking porno in their BOBs.

I like the big Alice pack , but hate the frames. I wanted a lightweight, strong, old-school alum frame with a proper shelf on the bottom Searched around, no one seems to be making them much anymore. Then I found this HideAway Epedition frame at Bi-Mart... the only frame they carried but EXACTLY what I wanted. 11" of shelf extension, as opposed to 3" on that pain in the a$$ Alice frame shelf you can add on. You can extend the upper frame quite a bit (as I have in pic) or bring it way down. I find it a great combo, all the things I like about the Alice pack with a frame which is comfortable, light, and keeps your gear held solid as you move with that shelf. 002a.jpg

If we go, we go by car. We go to a place where the credit cards still work and the lights are still on. Then we get a room, order room service, and wait out.

No natural disaster has ever affected every state. The disasters don't cross mountains.

I like the big Alice pack , but hate the frames.

I have three ALICE Mediums. right now, two are on metal frames, but one will get replaced with a DEI 1606AC eventually, along with another set of MOLLE straps/belt, probably DCU version...

here is my main pack;

ALICE Medium Woodland; on a Coleman PEAK 1 frame, with MOLLE shoulder straps and belt...it is MUCH better.. I attached a picture of the pack frame with MOLLE hardware, minus the packs, so you can see how it works; yea there's no shelf on there at the moment...but I am thinking of making one from a black cutting board and attaching by soft points (webbing) or door hinge sort of thing...

in my pack, I have the following;
1) clothes for two-three days in main pack compartment
2) hammock in main pack radio pouch, along with tarp stakes
3) ultralight tarp in pack top flap pocket
4) canteen stove in center exterior pocket
5) canteen cup in center exterior pocket
6) sterno can and additional fire starting kit in center exterior pocket
7) Potable Aqua water purification bottle and Iodine tabs and filter in center exterior pocket
8) food rations in side exterior pockets
9) kershaw filleting knife
10) GI Intermediate Cold weather mummy sleeping bag (from the 80s) in black MSS bag
11) SKS in scabbard
12) 2 2qt canteens on opposing side of scabbard
13) camelbak in camelbak, to supplement the canteens
14) tree straps and tarp guy lines and ridge line in one MOLLE pouch on belt;
15) first aid kit in other MOLLE pouch on belt; first aid kit contains the following;
-bandages
-suture kit
-burn treatment
-aspirin
-bug bite cream
-tincture of green soap
-alcohol wipes
-band aids
-gauze tape
-shears
-betadine solution
-bottle of antibiotics

I think that is pretty much the most...

I would be wearing my black harness with the ammo for the rifle and handgun, which would be on my belt as well.

otherwise, I would put the ammo and such into the main pack compartment (still got room in there) along with gun cleaning kit. (forgot to put it on the pack with the rifle...)
EDIT: overall weight with the rifle and water is just over 45 pounds. would be much less without the rifle and ammo..
