I dont know about that, last time I ordered a brick the package sat on my doorstep all day till I got home, aside from being heavy written all over it was LAX Ammo. A friend of mine ordered 2 bricks, he happened to be home when the delivery guy shows up who immediately mentioned my friend "must be stocking up" and proceeded to want to talk about guns, caliber etc.

In my case anyone could have taken note of the package and left it so they could wait till we go away for the weekend. In my friends case, thats at least one person who knows your valuables that may or may not be an honest person.

I agree with you on that note. If I buy ammo on line then I have it delivered to my place of business where I know the UPS driver personally.

Several years ago, a new burglary trend started. Thieves would break into cars where it was reasonable to expect them to be awhile such as a movie theater or a casino. They wouldn't take anything from the car, they just wanted the registration or other papers that showed the address of the owner. They would then go to that address and burglarize it. It is amazing what desperate people with no respect for anything will do. Easy targets, path of least resistance, and opportunity.

This would be interesting for me.

First, could they find it?

The DMV screwed up the address on my license and registration; they put both mailing and residence street addresses on it but only put the mailing address city, which is 20 miles from the residence and a completely different city. Also, I live on a private road off a gravel backroad off a backroad off a backroad that on a mountainside - easy to get lost up here.

Second, neighbor dogs are always patrolling and will bark at all strangers.

I put these all over my car - that way people know I don't have anything worth stealing, not even an idea....

I don't like bumper stickers either, but sometimes I make an exception: I have a "LifeFlight" sticker and a "Veteran" sticker on my truck back bumper. And a "Dogs for the Deaf" window sticker.

My wife put a "I'll keep my guns, You keep the change" sticker on our Yukon but the rig crapped out and now we have a Toy-car (not a Prius) with a clean bumper. I hope to keep it that way. ;)

But I don't drive an old VW bus (well, not any more), so I break that stereotype right there....;)

The middle brother had an old VW bus with some weird texturized paint on it. There was lots of pot smell in that rig let me tell you. Had an 8track player too. At 70yrs old he's still a weird guy.

Another post somewhere here on NWFA suggested discarding empty gift boxes for expensive/nice toys next to the street-side trash pickup spot - at someone else's house.

You know... big boxes with big graphics that say stuff like S&W, Apple, Winchester, Sony, Colt, TargetsportsUSA, Mossberg, Hornady, Cabela's, Ruger, Samsung, Amazon, etc., etc.

Here in Moldnomah County I wouldn't have to look far for just the "right house." I'm surrounded by them.

I've never had any stickers on my car...

But I did have a 2003 Pontiac 6000 P.O.S. once that I thought about putting $100.00 under the keys on the dash board.

My first car was an old beat-up '71 van. It wasn't a 'stoner' rig, but a working rig. Used it to go camping, hauled a trailer with it, and carried more friends in one vehicle than anyone else in school :) It had come from an owner that lived on the coast, so it was in a perpetual state of actively rusting. I learned a lot about Bondo with that car ;)

I actually tried that once (minus the money). Repairs were worth more than the vehicle so while it was still driveable I just left the key in the ignition unlocked...
Nobody stole it though

Funny, but I wouldn't try it. You got tremendous liability there!!!

We just traded our junker to a Ford dealer. He was ripping us off on a car deal so, karma eh?

Whats the liability? Anyone can have their car stolen at anytime...

Speaking of security, I saw this ad in the Musicians section of Craigslist a few years ago:

WARNING, CAR BREAK-IN NEAR 32nd & BELMONT
I absent-mindedly left my car unlocked last night with an accordion in plain view on the back seat. I came back this morning and found another accordion on the front seat!

Until the thief is caught and tells on you. Then your insurance gets a bill for all the damage, and you are implicated in a DUI fatality. Not worth playing funny little tricks IMO.

So the thief is going to say I left him my keys so he could steal my car?

The best way to do it is drop the keys outside the car;)
Then who's to say you did it on purpose?
I'm late as usual but the only sticker I would put on my vehicle was guns and coffee.
Seemed to keep tailgaters at bay at least.
