I experienced several earthquakes when I lived in California. Some had that rolling, wave-like feel and some felt like we were being shaken like dice in a cup.
One of the most memorable happened while I was working down in a drydock. When it started, everyone scampered up out of there as quick as we could - must've looked like a bunch of squirrels running up a tree.
The main concern was that the caisson would break, and drown us. But it held, thank goodness.
Can't imagine what a super-duper Cascadia quake would be like. I wonder how far inland the effects would be?
